went here oct 1. great place and trail is very wheelchair friendly. there is a paved loop trail which also has benches. the loop trail starts unpaved but becomes paved around trail marker 5. the visitor center is very educational but less accessible (there are stairs to get in) go here in spring or fall- if you are expecting wildflowers, go in april or may
Fun little day trip. My son and I walked the trail, theres a brochure at the top by visitor center with numbers attached to info corresponding to numbered poles on the trail.
Wonderful. Was there from noon till sundown on 11/28/23 hiking to the top of the butte. Incredible views from the top are well worth the strenuous hike. Beautiful vegetation all along the trail.
Fantastic little park! Has the main camping area a little close to the road but there is a secondary area that's plenty far from noise. There's a great little PAVED loop that is 100% wheelchair accessible, and plenty of dirt paths that stretch for awhile. HAVE MORE WATER THAN YOU THINK YOU NEED READY.
Saddleback Butte State Park is a state park in the Antelope Valley of the western Mojave Desert, in Southern California. It is located east of Lancaster, north of the community of Lake Los Angeles, and south of the city of Edwards in the unincorporated city of Hi Vista Daytime use is $6, $5 for Seniors and $3 for the Disabled. Overnight camping is $20. Centralized Restrooms are available for the 50 camping sites. Each camping spot has a table, a fire ring and an overhead shelter. The prominent feature and namesake of the park is Saddleback Butte, that is 3,651 feet (1,113 m) high. Saddleback Butte State Park includes over 2,955 Acres of land, and was created in 1960 to protect the area's Joshua tree (Yucca brevifolia) desert habitat. The lights of Los Angeles obscure the stars in the sky, so star gazing isn't advisable. A nice place to hang out away from the cities. I've been utilizing this nice and fairly small park since the early 70s and have always found the park to be clean, spotless and well maintained, always free of litter! This is a wonderful park to feel the ambience and at times harsh weather of the western Mojave Desert. During the early spring the winds may blow excessively strong. It's delightful to have this wonderful park as a great escape from the City.
Great state park with fantastic views of the saddleback butte as well as an awesome paved trail with an interpretive guide that leads you through the history and the ecology of the park. Was very pleasantly surprised by the well-kept nature of the park, as well as the numerous covered picnic areas, and well researched pamphlets that give you a really good feel for this state park. Living in LA, had never heard of this place, but so glad that I decided to stop by - and will be coming again soon. Also lots of really interesting Joshua trees, creosote bushes, and yucca night lizards!
Nice little park and visitor center. There is camping here, although we didn't do the camping. We spent maybe an hour here at the visitor center which has a nice display of what you may find in this area. There is a nice concrete paved trail that our kids and us enjoyed. Nice views of the desert.
This is such a nice little desert to camp. Also nice for hiking, some really cool wildlife out there. Be sure to pack water and sunscreen before you hike thought the sun is blistering hot in the summer. Pics are mine and are Copyright

Great little dog park for both big dogs and small dogs. The big dog park has a large dirt area but it also has a grassy area too. The small dog park has both a mixture of grass and dirt. The grounds are well-kept and there's plenty of benches for the

We enjoyed a nice dinner at Lucky Luke on a recent Monday evening. The restaurant is somewhat like a sports bar, with a couple large TVs on the wall behind the bar showing sports, several dining tables in the middle section of the room, and booths al
