We will be back. Kids menu up to age 10. The pies alone are worth the drive. A bit on the higher dollar side of things. Salmon Sandwich was good. Kid's pizza was also good. Looking forward to our return to try a few other dishes on the menu. They're adding a bar area. Looks to be a lot of castle danger on tap, plus specialty cocktails.

Food was pretty good. Purchased the onion rings which were some of the best we have had lately. Grilled cheese sandwich was a bit lacking on the cheese side but was still good. Chicken strips are very meaty and cooked well. BBQ beef sandwich was just a little dry but was still very good. Homemade chips are very good as well. Excellent service. The bathroom on the other hand was far from clean and does not seem to have been checked in Avery one time. Will go back again when in the area.

Tired of dining options in GM or want to eat before getting there? This is it! Awesome, awesome food. Pies are fresh and good but could be served warmed up and has a slightly thinner crust which may or may not be to your liking.

When on the North Shore you must stop at the Rustic! Expect a wait. It’s very popular, but it’s worth it. Best known for their pie, the taste and selection is very good. However, the Onion Rings were the best I’ve ever had! Cute gift shop to browse while you wait. It was a fun way to pass the time. I will be back!

Crazy busy on a weekday! My waiter was very kind and thorough even though he had a lot of guests to handle. Food that I had was very tasty (although a bit pricey): bbq bacon burger and the recommended berry crumble pie. Would definitely order again! (Was hoping to purchase something from the adjoining gift shop, but there was nobody at the register.)

We always stop here when we are up on the North Shore. I've never had a bad meal and make sure you plan on having pie. The best pie on the North Shore!

Quite the busy place! When we arrived there were many people waiting for a table as the place was full. We went in only to purchase two slices of pie and that was fairly quick. I wish the Pie sign/board as well as the chocolates had a price visible as we did not see it listed. Peanut butter pie was phenomenal and definitely a sharable item since it's super rich in flavor. The Raspberry wasn't my favorite as it was a bit sour for me however my husband loved it!

*Be prepared for a novel of a review* 😂 My husband and I loved this place! ❤️ This was our favorite restaurant we ate at during our stay on the north shore, including restaurants we went to in Duluth. The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere and it felt like a very romantic place to go to with my husband. There were groups with kids there so it is family friendly as well. *Unfortunately, I do need to include our wait time in this review. We arrived on a Friday night around 6pm with no reservation and we were seated right away, but our food wasn't served for another hour at least. Luckily we ordered an appetizer that came to the table quickly because we were so hungry after a full day of travel! I will say, I can tell that it was a very unusual occurrence for this to happen. Do not expect to normally wait that long. **Here's the part I hope you pay attention to the most -the wait was SO WORTH IT! The food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the shrimp scampi and my husband had the meatloaf. Wonderfully flavored, spiced, and cooked to perfection! 😍 The appetizer mentioned earlier was the onion rings. They were good, but nothing special until you dip them in the restaurant's home made ranch sauce! Do it, you won't regret it. I would take home a bottle of that deliciousness if it was an option (and if it was, I deeply regret not seizing the opportunity!). 😂 *The waitress was really nice and hospitable. She checked on us multiple times while we waited and checked with the kitchen to see what was going on. She even ended up giving us pie on the house as an apology for the wait time. We ended up taking our free pie to go and it was delicious! *Price: it is a little expensive, but we chose dishes off of the "Entres" list which is the expensive part of the menu. For us, again it was completely worth it. They have other menu options such as sandwiches, wraps, salads that were all cheaper options. Some groups we saw come in to just sit and have coffee and pie, which sounds like a wonderful time to me. *They have a gift shop there with a lot of cute and unique items. Overall, we highly recommend eating at Rustic Inn Cafe and we will definitely be back ourselves. ❤️

I am not sure the North Shore is meant to be visited during winter/early spring since a lot of places are closed, roads are snowed in, and trails are inaccessible. However, there is a stark beauty to the area this time of year that I find compelling.
