We booked a weekend at Rushmore Estate for our 10 year wedding anniversary and had an absolutely amazing time. We really wanted a peaceful time away from nyc and were the only guests that weekend so we pretty much had the whole house to ourselves. There are only 4 rooms though so even if it was fully booked, there is plenty of space to enjoy for everyone. We took our 3 year old toddler with us who spent the whole weekend in the pool. We were also so lucky to have Mary there for our stay who helped us with everything, including finding a delicious place for dinner ( Scalia & Co in Monroe was excellent) and just made sure we had everything and anything. We prepared for the trip before hand since we have a super picky eater, and really chose this place because we could also use the kitchen. It was so great to grill burgers and hot dogs and have them by the pool for lunch, and make some omelettes for breakfast! But the best part about staying here are the grounds of course - just absolutely gorgeous views, gardens, rooms are all very clean and well kept. It felt like we were in a private villa in Tuscany- that's how beautiful this is. If we knew about this place when we got married I definitely would have booked it. Thanks to Mary again for catering to our every need and being so wonderful with my daughter. We cant wait to go back for a long weekend or book a birthday party!!

I’ve stayed in many boutique properties but Rushmore Estate tops them all because the grounds are indescribably gorgeous. Words cannot do it justice as you have to experience it to appreciate its beauty. The bedrooms & bathrooms are tastefully done with respect for the history of its founder Charles Rushmore, who Mount Rushmore was named after! It was originally built in 1908 & has been renovated by its current owner. It is also an incredible wedding venue, hosts affairs, parties & meetings. The waterfall lake offers all the toys & large mouth bass fishing. There are private tennis, basketball & pickleball courts. The grounds are spectacular with old growth specimen trees everywhere. The heated infinity edge pool is enormous w a walled off shallow kiddie pool section. There is also a very cute 2 BR cottage separate from the main house & ballroom. I’m very particular when it comes to accommodations & Rushmore Estate deserves 5 stars across the board! It is 55 acres of gated, secure private property so safety is no issue at all. I highly recommend Rushmore Estate for any occasion or a peaceful vacation.

This place is not "average" at all actually - it's a unique and beautiful spot - but I couldn't go with "very good" as it just needs too much work.||We were really excited to stay here - the pics, description & reviews were excellent. Kate was great to work with in setting everything up - always prompt & responsive.||We got in late in the day due to cross country travel and unfortunately the regular staff had gone home. The person who let us in was not particularly well informed or helpful & seemingly in a bit of a rush to get out of there. Our first impression was not good. They really could use a detailed FAQ/instructions sheet in every room...who to call if there's a problem or question, how to get in & out of the gate, outdoor lights?, lock the front building door?, no bathtub drain covers?, no hangers?, no pool towels?, no basketballs? cost to use the locked bar?||We had asked for a rollaway bed and they had helpfully provided one but it wasn't a normal hotel size rollaway - more a tiny camp bed just a few inches off the floor - really only suitable for a small child. My 6' college age son spent a miserable night basically falling off it each time he moved. I just wish they had let us know that it was extremely small so we could have planned around that. The next day we rented an additional room for him. ||It was a warm summer evening so we hoped to spend a bit of time out by the pool before dark but it wasn't set up for use and the water looked filthy. Strolled down to the pond/lake and that looked even worse - murky, stagnant & bug infested. The various watercraft items were in an appalling state - dirty, torn, full of bugs, broken rudder. Basically unusable. They simply should not be advertised as an amenity. Huge yuck.||That night the internet didn't work and we really needed it for work stuff. I luckily had Kate's number from our reservations activity & she responded immediately and came over late night to fix it via re-boot. She also told us the pool guy had recently dumped in a bunch of chemicals causing it to look so bad & would be back to work on it tomorrow...and that we could get a tub drain cover tomorrow, etc. OK; things are looking up.||The bathroom plumbing is in dire need of work. The showers were awful - the heads seemingly clogged with years worth of mineral deposits - random tiny streams of water shooting out all over the place. Each shower was an uncomfortable & ineffective process. One toilet tank dumped a bit of water out onto the floor each time it was flushed. One tub had no faucet (so once you got a plastic drain cover you needed to fill it slowly with the shower) - the other had a faucet but the one time we tried to fill it for a bath it caused the water flow in the next door shower to turn off completely while someone was using it. I understand that this is an old property but you can't advertise and charge for it as a luxury stay without disclosing these kinds of plumbing issues. ||There is a simple breakfast (coffee, juice, water and a variety of grocery store like breads/fruit/yogurt) provided in a beautiful "dining" (once a ball) room. ||By day 3 the pool was finally looking good enough to go in but there was a group of kids/moms using it - all lounges occupied, kids in the pool with floats, etc. I'm not sure who they were as we were the only guests on site, but we felt uncomfortable about intruding. After waiting a while to see if they might leave I finally walked over which caused them all to immediately scatter - pulling unhappy kids out of the pool etc. So I guess they were not supposed to ben there? I kind of resented being put in the position of feeling badly about ruining the fun for these kids & also wondering why friends/family (or whoever they were) were not told to stay clear when the place was occupied. It was just weird. ||Mary was fabulous - going out of her way repeatedly to be of assistance and a warm, friendly presence. The bedrooms were beautiful - clean, high ceilings, spacious, nicely decorated. Absent the plumbing the bathrooms were interesting and attractive too. The ballroom/breakfast area was lovely. The grounds and overall property were unique and memorable.

The Hudson Valley is one of our favorite locations to photograph weddings, and Rushmore Estate is a prime example of why! The whole team at Rushmore was so easy and a real pleasure to work with from start to finish. The property is filled with so much charm and beauty, too. We love venues that have it all - beautiful locations from getting ready, to sunset ceremonies, outdoor cocktail hours, and an amazing space to dance the night away under the stars. Did we also mention there's a pool? One of our favorite memories is when the bride and guests jumped in full formal wear at the end of the night! Seriously great place - thanks so much to the whole team for being so awesome!

My husband and I made last minute arrangements to go away for a short stay for our Anniversary. We happened upon the website for Rushmore Estate and are so happy we did! What a wonderful place, staffed by the most gracious people! It is beautiful, immaculately clean, cozy, comfortable and elegant. We felt very welcomed. Sergio showed us around and couldn't have made us feel more at home. And he presented the most beautiful breakfast spread rivalled only by Martha Stewart. Baked goods, fruit, yogurt, omelettes... delicious! I highly recommend a stay at Rushmore Estate. Can't say enough good things about it. A memorable stay.

We were are a family of 5 and were so fortunate to stay at this beautiful estate! Russell was so helpful and responsive from the moment we inquired about our stay. His recommendations on the perfect rooms and restaurants made our stay extra comfortable and easy. The rooms were very clean, nicely decorated and the beds so comfortable. Russell arranged for a wonderful massage on the property. Karen made us a delicious breakfast served in the grand ballroom. The infinity pool far exceeded our expectations and we enjoyed fishing and paddle boarding on the pond. Such an amazing escape if you chose to just stay on property or adventure out to see the surrounding attractions. I wish we could have stayed longer! We will be back for sure. I highly recommend the Rushmore Estate or should I say resort! ||Thank you for making us feel so welcome!

The Rushmore Estate is the perfect getaway for couples and families! The property is absolutely beautiful and surrounded by acres of land to explore making you feel like you are in your own little world away from home. The ballroom is beautiful and was a great spot to hang out on the couch and enjoy the fireplace with a drink in hand. The fire pit down by the lake is a wonderful addition and a great place to sit and watch the sunset. The rooms are stunning and very comfortable. Sergio was extremely accommodating and helpful through the check in process and a great contact to have throughout the duration of our stay. This is a perfect spot to get away and an incredibly unique experience unlike most stays in the area. I highly recommend the Rushmore Estate and am excited to book my next stay!

Our family celebrated Mom’s 90th birthday on the estate mid December. We’re local, although my crew returned from out of town. We rented the 4 luxurious rooms for the long weekend and booked the ballroom for our party for 65 people. Our stay was amazing. Russell, Sergio, Karen and all the crew were welcoming and accommodating. The estate from the early 1900’s, is stunning and although historic, modern in amenities. Rooms are spacious, well appointed and comfortable. We enjoyed a delicious hot breakfast each morning in the ballroom. Gathering around the fireplace was a joy. Planning for the party and execution was made easy. The room was beautiful and comfortable. Our Mom, local and out of town guests had a perfect time. Highly recommended. We will be back!!!
