Beautiful park. A gem in the community. It’s a very recreational park. Sometimes there’s a hundred people here just to play soccer, basketball, or handball Travel tip: if you are alone I recommend staying on the north end of the park. Avoid nighttime wandering. There is a stabbing here maybe once every 3 weeks. A handful of robberies every few months. It’s generally a pretty safe area considering its proximity to the ave and Sutphin. Travel tip 2: always pick up after yourself. The park remains usually clean, but trash gathers quickly especially after events. Leave it better than the way you found it!
It’s my neighborhood park and love going there when I have time home. Enjoy watching locals in my neighborhood play soccer Aka football, handball, basketball, lots of space for kids to ride, rollerblade as well and the play ground to play. Would be nice if the playground area can be clean daily though and keep much more cleaner for the kids to enjoy. Lots of trees cause it’s a pretty large park. I think this space of park is pretty big and should have more events for locals to enjoy. Probably have seasonal stuff on display each season.
I cant wait to go back for a tour. So interesting. My husband is from the neighborhood and remembered passing by there 70 years ago with his Mom. Thank you so much.
Beautiful park to just walk, jog, or chill. I love how on some Beautiful evenings people play soccer. Great place to bring children.
This is a historic park ,one of the main attraction is the museum which rufus king lived at a very long time ago.some times the museum is open to the public. This museum mansion is surrounded by a huge lawn that have seats out there in the summer time. The park also has a huge soccer field that is a major attraction in the summer time. This field is occupied with soccer games most of the times. You also have a nice size basketball court over there. Plus a decent size hand ball court.that is surrounded by alot of park benches, and a small playground for the kids . Sometimes this park has some homeless people situation. But it has gotten better over there. You also have a bathroom over there, that is not the best, but they are their.and the park can be really crowded In the summer time, there are so many park benches to choose from to sit down at.And this park is a pretty good place to have picnic at . The park happens to be located right on jamaica Avenue. So if you want some food to eat you have some okay food options in the surrounding area. And there is a police station across the street from the park. Also you can discover the history of Congress man rufus king and all he was apart of in America's history.
Attended fair in park for a community event. Great location for hosting many activities.
Great place to visit and learn the history.
go here almost everyday, it’s my local park and it is pretty big. At night their are a few more homeless people and sometimes it does smell like weed but during the summer many kids go out and play the ice cream stands go through the playground to sell ice cream for the kids. Overall nice park.
I really enjoy this park, it's located adjacent to Forest Park and the amazing walking trails and closed to the bandstand (across Woodhaven). There's a great track and plenty of areas for playing all types of sports. Plenty of shady areas with bench
Iâm a spring baby and this park was my haven this year. So many interesting surprises along my hike through it. One of my little gems. Itâs clean and never crowded. I spot blue jays and other colorful birds and wild cats. Feels great being wrap
If you have small kids, donât even think of going to other beaches at Far Rockaway but here. Iâve been taking my kids here every summer since 2018 and Iâve always found a parking spot for free right next to the playground. We ONLY go on weekday
Jacob Riis Park in Rockaway is a natural gem on the outskirts of New York City. With its 50 acres of lush woods, this park offers a serene escape from the urban hustle and bustle. The dense foliage creates a picturesque setting for hiking, picnicking
One of the smaller parks out here, yet its fairly well kept and shown to be a great place to hangout or even take a small walk around before you head back home.
Attended the park on Sunday evening for an event called the Dope Day Party. It goes from 3-pm - 10 pm. Got there around 7:30 and had a hard time finding parking. You can park on premises but at 7:30 when we got there the lot was full. Had a GREAT tim
A yoga studio should feel like home and honestly I am yogi studio feels just like that . Growing up in south east queens , there wasnât always a focus on health and wellness. I have often had to travel into other boroughs and zip codes to be able t
I am attending Francesco's classes and he is simply amazing! I'm not a sporty woman but during his lessons I have to admit that time flies and I have always so much fun. It's great for me that I am always in a hurry and I have not a fixed working tim
Great shop, always well supplied with all the varieties of smoke product and well priced. And most importantly lots of Nepali snacks and a truly exceptional service, above and beyond.
The workers are extremely nice peopleâ¦the food is tasty and flavorful. This was my second time eating here but my first time going in person and just meeting the people who work inside makes you want to go back⦠Check them out !
