Rudy's Tenampa Taqueria - Mexican restaurant in Lenexa - 8710 Lackman Rd, USA

Haven’t been to Rudy’s in awhile but today we decided to have lunch there and we LOVED it! We decided on the Baja Iceberg margs to start and asked for frozen. The reason for my 4 stars is that they came out and were not frozen at all but overall not bad flavor just a lot of sweet and sour flavor. Would love more authentic marg taste. Ordered the 5 street tacos, 1 of each kind. When I say that the meat melted like butter, I mean it. Absolutely delicious tacos and the chili verde was perfect! Definitely will be back!

Very good. Been meaning to go here for awhile and finally thought of it today. Went for Saturday late lunch/early dinner around 2:30pm, and I am glad we did. Food was excellent! Presentation was perfect, food was hot, fresh and tasted great. Had the Enchiladas Azteca and they were great. Beans and rice was good, as was the Guacamole and cheese dip. Karen (our server) did an excellent job too! We will definitely be back and it will likely become a regular place for us.

Place was clean, people were friendly, reasonably priced. Salsa was more tomato sauce versus salsa so wasn't what we generally like. Food came out quick, flavor was okay, nothing really special about it, filling but not flavorful. Waitress only stopped by when we were almost done asking if we needed boxes when refills would have been nice as our drinks were empty. Had to ask for those, never asked how we were doing or about our food, seemed more ready for us to leave versus our dining experience. Place had quite a few customers so other people must enjoy it, but not a place we will visit again.

We have been driving past this place for a while and we decided to try it out. Overall, ok. We ordered the ceviche which was pretty good. I will recomend trying it if you lare a fish and shrimp lover. I had the Tacos al Pastor. Ehhh, So so. The best dish was the Rudy's Carnitas. However here is a tip for the customer and a suggestion for the owner: Customer: Make sure you ask for corn tortillas because the dish came with flour tortillas. The style of this Pork and flour tortillas dont pair well. Its like having white wine when eating steak, Or ceviche with red wine, some foods simply are meant to go hand on hand with corn tortillas. The tender pork was AWESOME, for the owner maybe have those chunks of pork cut a bit smaller. If we come back to this place this is what we will order again and the ceviche. I would also suggest to advise customers that the refried beans are served with shredded cheese. As lots of people have dairy allergies its better if you ask the customer if having cheese is ok.

This is my second visit: specially their chips and salsa. The chips are the super thin style I like and the salsa is a nice finely processed salsa. The lunch menu we ate was the perfect portion for a lunch meal. I wasn’t overly full when I had to go back to work. They do a great job of socially distancing and the service was fantastic. I am going back soon despite the drive!

We just had our family reunion catered with a delicious Taco Bar and queso. It was such a hit and everyone got a ton to eat. Rudy’s has never disappointed and we love how friendly everyone is when we order and pick up. Will definitely cater with them again!

Ordered the Tres Amigos lunch special. I chose beef enchilada, beef taco and a chicken taco. I think the shells are great. Hot, crispy and fresh. The chicken was very tender with good flavor. Enchilada has a good amount of beef. I cleaned the plate. I was seated immediately, ordered and received food fast. Refills on salsa and drink were prompt. Great service, good food. I'd come again.

My girlfriend and I love this place. The last time we were there was live music. Margaritas are excellent, I recommend the Baja margarita. The fluntas are a must. The service is phenomenal. When the weather is nice their patio is the place to be.
