I have yet to move into my unit, however, my leasing agent Melissa has been great to work with. She’s punctual, knowledgeable, and willing to answer any questions I had regarding the unit down to measurements for my personal belongings. Hopefully my living experience will align well with my leasing experience. 10/10 recommend Melissa
I lived at Royse + Brinkmeyer for 3 years and it was a solid choice for a first solo apartment! My 2-bed apartment was very affordable for my salary. Of course there were plenty of things I wish I had in my apartment, such as a better bathroom layout, better laundry facilities, and thicker walls (I went crazy sometimes with how clearly I could hear my neighbors). Still, I was usually happy to call that unit home. Maintenance always responded in a reasonable and timely manner. They even completely redid my windows. Staff were always very nice and I am a fan of the new-ish R&B services. I got a catsitter through them for a decent price and it was great to not have to worry about my cat while I went on vacation. The security deposit did take a while to receive, about 2 months after I moved out, but had minimal and reasonable charges.
I honestly was okay with this complex until the entire ceiling collapsed in the master bedroom ( likely due to poor construction) on the morning of 09/15/2023. That room was being used as my toddler's bedroom, and if my kid didn't climb into my bed every night, it's probable that they would have died or been severely injured. Since the collapse, there have been no efforts made to discuss remuneration or alternative accommodations. My child and I have been left in limbo. I don't recommend this scummy company that only cares about profits .
I have thoroughly enjoyed living at my apartment at 309 S State St for two and a half years. Very charming place, albeit older fittings. Maintenance has been adequate and very prompt. Staff is mostly wonderful. All in all, a nice place to live and a great, ethical company to rent from.
Overall the company is becoming greedier in the last two years.
Maintenance is sort of okay with the right people. For example, Jim does extremely great job, he is really nice and smart.
I don't suggest you to do short-term lease. This will give them the opportunity to increase your rent enormously.
They increase my rent %8.29 (excluding fees) in March '22.
Later they increase my rent again %7.66 (excluding fees) in July '22. They don't negotiate too, at least with me who is a lessee for 4 years.
I moved into Stonegate Village in 2019, and have been very impressed by the company as a whole. They are quick to respond to maintenance matters and resolve them as quickly as possible. Last spring, Royse Brinkmeyer created a community garden area where tenants could plant a 9' by 3' garden plot and maintain it. I sometimes have mobility issues, and when it snows, the crew almost always shovels a path from the building I live in straight to the parking area so that I can get to my vehicle safely in order to get to where I need to go. This is a great community and I will continue leasing here as long as they will have me.
I love where I live, very much. Great community, and wonderful response time to issues in the apartment, but the business side is more business oriented, than resident centric. This review is very situational, and a warning when considering lease renewal with the company. Outside of some minor issues outside of this, I highly recommend the company.
I will always push people to this company because I know that the maintenance department takes care of their residents, but be mindful when signing your lease 6 months before your current one ends, it’s important to try to predict where you will be.
The staff is really understanding, and they definitely try very hard to meet any expectations that you have for them! I have not lived here long, not even a full year for now, but can happily say that they do have your best interest at heart! They are so very kind, I had missed the renewal date and they helped me out when I was afraid I had missed my chance to stay! For sure I do like it here, and plan to stay quite a while for the future!
