Owner was very nice and accommodating. Went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable on short notice. Charming room, good location. The service was warm and rare considering other places I've stayed with. They have an awesome crystal shop and cool rock decorations. Thanks a bunch from Illinois!
I definitely would not recommend staying here. They banned me because I used thumbtacks to pin up my own bedsheet in order to cover the window. The curtains that they had up did not cover the entire window and I value my privacy. Also, they told me that I used the air conditioning too much. It was July and the temperature was triple digits.
We came down from KC to crystal hunt the local mines and booked a room here. The room was clean, well maintained and the A/C worked great. Had wi-fi in the rooms as well. The hotel is quiet and is close to places to eat and even a grocery store. The pool was closed while we were there but the weather was decent. Would have gave a 5 star if pool was up and running. Still I would come back.

If you want posh keep looking. This place was perfect. The rooms are clean. The people were super nice. Beds were comfortable. There was a microwave and refrigerator with a working freezer(!) in the room also. And they very nicely prepared your coffe filter so you just had to add water and enjoy. Located in the middle of everything. And the rock collection there was 😳 huge and so cool for all us rock hounds! Will definately go back as soon as we can!
I did not care for this place. The 30 year old air conditioner in our room was extremely loud. To the point you couldn't have a conversation with someone on the same bed. The smell was of the room was noxious as well. Like someone dumped a whole bottle of cleaning product or bug spray in the carpet. It never went away either, even after trying to air the room out. I opted to sit outside much of the stay, as the fumes in the room were making me sick. Everything there was very outdated and stained. The pool was also closed and green with algae. Lots of junk scattered around the property as well. I really wasn't expecting much from this place as it was cheap, and i've stayed in some pretty bad motels too, but I honestly wouldn't stay here for free.
This motel was exactly what we needed. The location was perfect, it was inexpensive, and tidy. The room had two full size beds, a coffee maker, a TV, an air conditioner, and an attached bathroom with a shower, toilet, and sink. The bathroom had clean towels, toilet paper, soap, and a hair dryer. The water for the shower was nice and hot. This isn't really a complaint because it's a matter of personal preference but the pillows are indeed flat like another reviewer stated. If you prefer a fuller pillow, take your own. The man working the counter, I forget his name but I think it started with a J, was extremely pleasant and friendly. Overall, great experience and we'll be back next year.
Made reservations two weeks or more in advance. Due to viewing the photos of the pool and grounds and how well kept it looked, I felt confident that the place would be as advertised. Was especially looking forward to the pool after a long, hot day on the road. |I asked if the pool was open and clean and was told yes it was. |We finally got there and pulled into the parking lot. The grounds were over grown and the parking lot and surroundings didn't look cared for at all. |The pool was the worst part. It was covered in nasty looking green alge and clearly had not been attended to or cleaned in a long time. It was disgusting.|For me that was the deal breaker. We didn't even want to look at the rooms after seeing the outside of the place. |Pulled right back out of the parking lot and found better accomodations elsewhere. |The pictures they show of this place should be taken down until they match what they have posted on the internet. The ones they show are very misleading and after a day on the road we were very disappointed.
Drove 13 hours just to come mine here, and we will DEFINITELY be back. We found so many beautiful crystals! Highly recommend doing the commercial or pocket digs! Bring your own tools, gloves, water, sunscreen, extra buckets, and good shoes/clothes fo
