Royal Grove Waikiki - Hotel in Honolulu - 151 Uluniu Ave, USA

This was a great place to stay the staff was amazing and very helpful. The pool was clean and the kids loved it. Only thing that wasn’t super great was the AC wasn’t cold enough to get to a level of comfort. You could barely feel the air moving when standing next to it. Otherwise it was a great stay. Super close to the beach the food truck across the street was delicious. Great staff and all around a great place to rest on vacation.

Positive: The room has a full kitchenette, nearly full size fridge, 4-burner stove, microwave, sink, water, some dishes and utensils. Room had a big table and chairs which I used for my laptop computer. Good bed. Air conditioner and bath fine. Nice pool. Negative: This is an older hotel. The building and room do not look new. I didn't care.

PERFECT! The Royal Grove offered us the ideal location near everything! We spent 90% of our time outside the room and the property, enjoying what the island offers. The Royal Grove gave us exactly what we needed: a place to rest, relax, and sleep after long days exploring the island at a very valuable price. They take care of the Kama’aina. Get full kitchen too if you like stay in and save a few bucks. Big Mahalo to the General Manager, Ruby at the front desk, and the housekeeping staff! PURE ALOHA!

Royal Grove is an excellent value is an excellent location in the center of Waikiki. In walking distance to everything: restaurants, the beach, tourist sights, etc. The staff are terrific. The hotel has live music on Wednesday evenings. The hotel has spare snorkeling equipment, beach chairs, surf boards, for guests in need. The hotel could use some some updating and refurbishing; but who am I to be nit picky with such a great value in such an expensive location?

The hotel is old as well as the room I had, no view, curtains closed because of the neighbors proximity, so was missing natural light. The bathroom is very small too, will not do it if you are a big guy. The swimming pool have a strange color but looks clean. Despite this picture it was fine for my short stay. Localisation is very good, about 100m from the Duke statue. Service is simple but good. Would appreciate a better cleaning and a general refreshing.

Can't beat the price and location. 2 blocks from the beach. Right by the bus line for the airport and mall. Tons of food and shops open all night. It's no luxury hotel. Can be loud and noisy in the room from street noises and late night hubbub. The AC is a little weak and might struggle to keep the room below 70. But overall plenty comfortable with ear plugs and a good attitude.

The good: 1. front office staff is excellent (do not have the name of the young lady that checked me in Thursday morning but she is excellent). 2. The proximity 2 the beach which is less than a 5 minute walk. 3. The staff seem do do their best with what they are working with. 4. They provide beach towels. 5. There is a full kitchenette. The not so great:1 rooms are quite outdated. 2. The AC is on the wall and leaks on the carpet. 3. There is mold in the grout in the bathroom, and probably in the carpet where the AC condensate drips. It was ok for what I needed.

Great locally owned business in a prime location one block from the beach. They offer umbrellas, chairs, and towels to take to the beach. 24/7 laundry machines available, very cheap pricing as well for that. They also sell detergent for $1/load at the front desk. They have live music and hula dancers on Wednesday nights in the lobby that play for a few hours, great sense of community. Only complaint is some ants in the bathroom.
