Rowden Park - Park in Lapeer - 1552 N Main St, USA

I walked the loop at Rowden Park yesterday for the first time. It would have been a picturesque trail, but a landscaping crew did a real number alongside the trailer park side of the lake. It looks like somebody went in there with a bulldozer. All the cotton tails and natural plants and scrub that grow along the back of the lake were eradicated. It's just chucks of smelly mud, and big machinery tire marks chopping into the soil everywhere. Hasn't anyone heard of the term "erosion?" Those plants are there to protect the natural landscape and wild life, and to keep those trailers from toppling off the top of the hill. I'm no geologist, but it just seems really stupid to me. It also looks terrible. The city should hire an environmental agency to help them determine how to properly manage the park. It makes the area look so worn down, and a little bit sketchy. I wouldn't want to walk that portion of the trail alone as a woman. It didn't feel safe. Please learn how to trim the natural flora judiciously! Otherwise, I would have rated the park 5 stars. It's a nice little jewel in the center of town.

I walk here almost everyday! I love it! Everyone I’ve met walking here, are friendly! The geese can be iffy sometimes, but just walk passed them, and don’t make eye contact!

Always a great place to get out and see nature. Love walking and riding my bike on the paths and we've hit the sledding hills in the winter time.

The park itself is actually pretty okay. It's the unleashed dogs, beer cans just tossed around randomly in the weeds and trees, the graffiti and people living in the surrounding woods that kills it for me.

Amazing place to bring your close friends and family too! I took a bunch of pictures there with my friend and daughter and had an amazing and awesome time! I've been there multiple times. I've saw people fishing there before but I haven't done that yet. There is a bridge that you could look down at the water which is cool to me if you like doing that type of stuff. LOL. There's also a part I went to with my daughter and family and it's a good clean Park! Just all-around Good vibes ‼! ☑☑☑☑☑☑☑

Nice, clean park with a 1.1 mile paved path that meanders through a wooded area, passes a covered picnic area tucked in the woods, across a wooden bridge over a lovely pond filled with Painted turtles, fish and Egrets, and continues between two ponds before returning to a park with playground, trees and flowers, and clean restrooms.

Short trail, but really nice place to walk. Pretty lake and nature, but also has playgrounds and a baseball field for the kids. Also looked like it had a pavilion where you could have lunch.
