What a fun place. Such great memorabilia of Route 66. They have a gift shop full of Route 66 items. I collect magnets, so of course I had to get one. There is no charge. Be sure to sign the visitor log.
Part of the iconic Route 66. We were unaware that this MO State Park even existed. At this time the park is in 2 parts, divided by the currently unrestored bridge across the Meramac river. The visitor center is off exit 266, while the main park is off 265 on highway 44. The park has about 424 acres, hiking, biking, and horse riding trails plus access to the river for boating activities. The visitor center is worth a visit for the gift shop plus a little exhibit of Route 66 area memorabilia. We were pleasantly surprised, and were glad we found this state park. At the time of our visit the leave were on the verge of changing colors.
Very nice and friendly guy manning the visitor centre. We have a great chat and understood a lot more about the Historical significance of the area. The exhibit area is absolutely free to visit. It was definitely worth the drive out from St Louis
This was our final stop along Route 66 as we headed across country. We went into this Visitor's Center blind as to what it signified. The staff (Jan) was extremely knowledgeable and discussed the history of Times Beach, its unfortunate demise, and the future of the Route 66 bridge. The Visitor's Center has a very large gift shop of Route 66 memorabilia, a nice museum and 3D model of Times Beach, and clean bathrooms. This is a great place to see a piece of Route 66 history from a local perspective (vice the Route itself). Outside the Visitor's Center is an original neon sign from the Key Cafe and a fee info placards about the "Save the Bridge" campaign. You are unable to cross the bridge, as it does not exist at this time (Aug 2023).
We stopped off for a restroom break, sign on the interstate said visitor center. What we got was a wonderful experience. Clean restrooms, friendly staff. The museum was a nice touch, packed a lot of information and history. Gift shop was full and reasonable price. Highly recommend if you are in the area.
We visited back in June - didn't plan on stopping here but saw the signs from the highway and decided to make a stop. Glad we did! The building is beautiful, the museum is lovely and is full of useful Route 66 information and history. There's a Route 66 themed gift shop with plenty of interesting gifts to buy and the person we spoke to was very friendly and informative. He showed interest in us, gave us lots of leaflets to help us along our journey and gave us a pin to put in the map to show where we'd come from!
I love this place and come everytime I visit the areafrom Florida. My family lives nearby. I always buy gifts from the gift shop. Sitting now in front of the visitors center on cold day in December and a sign is posted "Closed for the Season". It would be nice if their Google business page listed the dates they are open.
So much information . Absolutely beautiful. Very well put together. I love history. You must take the time to stop in. I will be coming back with my boys. We got our kicks on RT66

I really liked this hotel. It is definitely very old school, but in a good way. Beautiful woodwork and details. I like being able to park right outside my room, and the room also had an entrance to the interior hall, so you could get to the restau
I always loved going to this thing park as a kid. Now I get to take my kids to it. The lines are usually really long on the bigger rides, I would recommend getting the flash pass if you can afford the extra money. The Batman and Mr freeze are one of
