While visiting family in the neighborhood, I decided to treat everyone to Take Out at Rouse's. The food here was delicious. I ordered a pork chop plate with black eye peas, cabbage, fried chicken plates with fried green tomatoes, chicken tender plate with fries, barbecue rib plate, baked beans, macaroni & cheese, hush puppies. The quality of the food was excellent for the value. My family is picky and they really enjoyed all the food. Everything was good except the BBQ ribs were extremely salty. The variety of sides and plates is plentiful. Make this your first stop for dinner while in Snow Hill and be sure to visit on Sundays for the buffet. The fried chicken, Fish, turnip greens, sweet potatoes and hush puppies are excellent. Wonderful service. The food is made with love here.
Had lunch there today and everything was outstanding. Our waitress was extremely helpful and sweet. The food was delicious especially the collards and deviled eggs- just like grandma used to make. Will definitely make several return trips.
I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and fries and the portion size of the fries wasn't very large. The burger bun was wet and soggy. The fish would have been better if you had slaw. Waitress said you were out of slaw! Collards were horrible and right out of a can! Deviled eggs were toooo sweet. Service was great from the waitress,but the wait time wasn't good to get our food! Restaurant was not busy at 11:30 am. Very disappointed. Only good things were waitress and the sweet tea. Rest rooms are too small for wheelchair access as well.
My husband had a trout plate. Good portion. I had a hamburger. The last time we went, I had chicken salad. It was great.
Their barbecue sauce is out of this world!
I heard the sweet potato casserole was good so I tried it & mine was burned. I couldn't taste the pecans on top because they were burned.
The sign said please wait to be seated. They weren't busy and I stood in the door way so they would see me. The girl that seated me was sitting at a table with someone else.
We always get great service here. Sunday buffet is great. Wednesday's turkey dinner is very good too. Fried chicken is great..
