Cozy, homey, adorable little Rose Court Cottage clearly has so much time and effort put into every little detail, I was amazed at Christy's (who runs the place) creativity. This place is truly a thing of beauty, an adorable little refuge, and Christy is super available, helpful, and thoughtful. It's a cute neighborhood with Victorian houses; our dog loved the flowers, plants, and a little park nearby; a wonderful organic co-op is diagonally across the street; and RCC is within walking distance, just blocks from the quaint, sweet downtown shopping district. Happily, we unsuspectingly happened upon stunning protected marshlands on a morning walk, and we were close driving distance to prime redwood hiking and even sand dunes. Such a magical place and location, a total gem!
We thoroughly enjoyed our 6-night stay in this cozy & charming cottage. It is quite compact, but carefully-planned & decorated & we were very comfortable during our stay. While central Arcata is nearby, the location is very quiet, great for those of us who are light sleepers (the very comfortable bed helped too). Though we stayed just after the county again permitted short-term rentals & only communicated with the owner by message & phone, we were in good hands, with all inquiries addressed promptly & helpfully.
Nothing has been overlooked in this perfect little cottage. Nice decor, wonderful court yard with water feature and setting, perfect space to unwind, we sat with a glass of wine and lite appetizers each afternoon and enjoyed the atmosphere. Beautifully appointed bathroom, with all the comforts anyone would require.Kitchenette was well very equipped, small but fit our needs perfectly. ||This was our first visit to Arcata and we were impressed with what this little town has to offer. A wonderful visit so I know we will return.
THis quirky accommodation somehow includes a kitchenette ( with mini fridge, coffee maker and microwave-- no real cooking facility), a comfy queen bed, a couch and a well appointed bathroom in a compact space. VERY thoughtfully equipped, from the picnic basket in the kitchen to the toiletries and hair dryer in the bathroom, to the books and DVDs in the "living area". The charming courtyard features a table and chairs for al fresco dining amidst the roses ( Go In May and you will be surrounded by them!!!)||There's a fabulous grocery store, with a bakery/coffee bar that opens at 6 a.m. 1 block away and a very clean well run laundromat 2 blocks away. The town is quirky with fun shops to explore, and Arcata Bay is about 25 minutes' walk away.
We had an excellent stay at Rose Court Cottage. The place was quiet, private, and cozy, and though small - it's really a garage apartment rather than a cottage - had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable, the shower powerful, and the towels plush and thirsty. There were even q-tips and makeup removing towelettes. There's a small sitting area with some books as well as a sizeable collection of DVDs for the VCR. The cottage is located within walking distance of the central plaza where there are a number of restaurants and shops. Christy gave suggestions as to where to eat and she has a binder containing menus from nearby eateries in the room. She does not supply breakfast, but there is a coffee maker in the little kitchen and a whole foods-like market across the street where one can get pastries, quiches, and coffee. All in all, it's a charming and well appointed lodging. We hope to return.
This is a cozy cottage tucked away on a side street in the middle of a fun town. The cottage has such a wonderful warm ambiance with a relaxing courtyard to sit outside and enjoy the garden. The location seems like it would be noisy but it is so very quite and a restful nights sleep is granted.||You have WildberriesMarket for food, & supplies with a great bakery right across the street and all the restaurants and the town square are with in walking distance.Great location.||Cristy is just delightful. She and Aldo are very charming and make you feel right at home.||We look froward to our next visit.
When I have to be in the area near Eureka for my work, I arrange it to stay here. |The accommodations are charming with all essential needs met ( internet, location, amenities).||The hosts are always welcoming with assured cleanliness, quiet privacy, and yet offer information about the beautiful Redwoods and nature surrounding this “find”.
My wife and I stayed in the Rose Court Cottage for a week in early January 2015. Christy wanted a break from serving breakfasts during our stay, so we just walked across the street to Ramones Bakery in Wildberry's Supermarket and got a nice fresh pastry and made-to-order coffee. Nicely done, this is a lovely cottage - kitchenette, bathroom and bedroom. One minor problem during our stay was a kitchenette drain that didn't work, but Christy assured us that a plumber would fix it as soon as the holidays were over. If you need a lot of horizontal space to spread out your stuff, you will be challenged here; so you ought to go to one of the chains on the outskirts of Arcata. But if not, you cannot go wrong with the Rise Court Cottage.
I really appreciated the opportunity to immerse myself in this 200 hour yoga teacher training. It provided an opportunity to disconnect from work and dive into the content. The yoga instruction and approach of this training was exactly what I hoped f
Perfect place for lunch! The best food. The best homemade tortillas! Wow! Yum! Burritos are huge! They are awesome if you have special orders (like no dairy). My order is always perfect!
Our airbnb host recommended this place because we asked for local food spots and he delivered! We love creperies and this place was the bee's knees. My fiance got the artichoke heart-filled "Got Yer Goat" and I got "Amber Rose." Mine was a safe choic
The cutest ice cream shop I have ever been in! They have an incredible table that's on a swing. You can sit at it with up to four adults and enjoy your ice cream while swinging! They also have the sweet single carousel ride for youngsters. Local phot
