Nice little place. Decor inviting, staff super friendly and attentive. I had the pasta fagioli soup (veganized), and the dish with pasta, asparagus, tomato sauce with chunks of tomatos, mushrooms and vegan shreds. Perfect! Just the right amount of everything. My husband has the NY strip steak with really nice roasted potatos and broccolini. The steak had pesto sauce on top. He said it was cooked perfectly.
As lovers of Bongiorno's, it was an easy decision for me and the wife to visit the new rendition of 23 Dove St.
As we entered, I noticed the charm of Bongiorno's was gone. The wood paneling of the walls with the gold framed paintings were no more, and there was no smiling Felix to greet hungry guests. There was, however, a bathroom on the ground floor. I did appreciate that.
After getting seated, we ordered our drinks, appetizer (focaccia), and entrees (bison steak and pork belly). Two of those three were received.
When our entrees were delivered, we pointed out we hadn't received the focaccia. It was then quickly brought to us burnt and unseasoned, as if hastily made.
My pork belly was okay at best. The bean salad underneath the small amount of pork did not seem to create whatever flavors the chef was going for.
My wife ordered the bison steak, which was unavailable. Instead, the NY strip steak was offered. The cut of meat she received was nearly all gristle. This was brought to the attention of the waitress. It was removed from the bill. It is worth mentioning that the chimichurri was absolutely delicious.
For dessert, we had the vanilla gelato and dark chocolate gelato. We received coconut gelato and dark chocolate gelato. They were both fantastic, but not what was ordered. Thankfully, we like coconut. But if we didn't, or if we were allergic, dessert would have been a little worse.
As evidenced by the history section of this establishment's website, 23 Dove St. has had an eventful and enjoyable past. Unfortunately, Rosanna's is now part of that history.
Rosanna's is probably the restaurant I recommend the most to others and the one my partner and I have the most date nights at, so I best get this review in before its sale is finalized and the Rosanna's I know and love is, extremely sadly, no longer. The aesthetic and vibe here is so cute and cozy, I love the wallpaper, the decorations, the fixtures, everything -- you walk in and you feel like the place is hugging you. But it's really the food that keeps me coming back again and again. The menu is small, and I love it that way -- they have a dozen or so things they execute beautifully -- you don't need anything else. We love starting our meals with the Pane Rustico, particularly because it comes with a whole roasted garlic that when spread over the warm bread is so so good. Although the menu is small, I have never had trouble finding something vegetarian to eat. Their eggplant parmigiana is my favorite preparation of that dish I've had, the tri colored tortellini with vodka sauce is delicious, as is the Ravioli ala Rosanna, and the Cacio e pepe and the gnocchi when they're available. During one of our visits their pizza special was a fried eggplant pizza and it was so good I still think about it often. We love finishing our meals here with cappuccinos and a dessert to share -- usually the tiramisu but sometimes we get enticed by the seasonal bread pudding option.
As with the food menu, the cocktail menu is small but well-curated and greatly executed. I particularly enjoy their bourbon-based Il Marito and the gin-based Rosanna.
All the staff we've ever interacted with have been lovely and the service is warm and prompt.
TLDR: Great vibe, delicious food and drink, friendly service. My favorite Italian restaurant in the Capital Region.
My husband and I went to Rosanna's for the first time for our anniversary dinner. The ambiance was nice and the service was fine, but the food was disappointing. I ordered the $38 Grilled Bison Flank Steak and was informed that they do not have bison, so it would be a NY strip steak. I decided to go with it anyway. We also ordered an appetizer that did not arrive before our main courses.
On the one hand, the broccolini and the Italian chimichurri were absolutely delicious. The broccolini was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The steak, however, was full of fat and so incredibly tough and chewy. The "potato nugs" would have been better described as diner potatoes, very powdery inside and not seasoned well. I asked if there would be a price reduction for my meal, because that was clearly not an expensive cut of meat. My meal was removed from our bill, which I appreciated.
We got the vanilla and dark chocolate gelato for dessert. We're 99% sure that vanilla was actually toasted coconut, so it's a good thing we like coconut! Overall, we were expecting better for our $30+ main courses.
This is a cute and swanky restaurant in Downtown Albany, in a newly restored historic building. The building is spotless and pristine. They have a nice outdoor patio, as well as a main dining room and a bar on the 1st floor. There are 2 additional dining/private party rooms upstairs. Staff members are friendly and helpful and service is prompt and polite. The food is wonderful. We recommend the Eggplant Parmigiana and Chicken Parmigiana.
I was with a large group for brunch today. Service was excellent. Food was superb and i have been to quite a few restaurants in my day. Atmosphere so quaint. I will be back with my family and friends. Even though i live in Kingston its well worth the drive just for this. Kudos to Dora and her team there!
We were there last night!!! Absolutely everything was divine. My boyfriend is a chef and he and I were both incredibly inspired and impressed with the execution of everything, from the beet and burrata, the Roman fried artichoke, the winter veggie riggies and the braised beef cheeks and then the dessert they had on special… just amazing. Served with elegance in a romantic cozy space… definitely made for a fantastic date. Thank you guys for such a wonderful experience!!!
Their eggplant parmigiana is the best I've had, and given that my husband is vegetarian, I've had many. He, having sampled even more, is also in agreement with this statement. The crisp is unreal, and yet the slices are not overly thin, but meaty! Nothing is burned. The sauce is perfect. The salad dressing is delightfully vibrant.
I had the Rosanna, and a Negroni al Caffe, and both were delightful. When we were uncertain of a wine pairing with my creamy ravioli, the waitress gave us some samples and we ended up landing on the Gentil Hugel. The wine list here was so unexpectedly interesting! Portions were plenty and the ambiance was perfect. We will be back!!! Especially since our gelato with the olive oil cake was forgotten in the to go bag... We have to know what it tastes like!!!
Delicious Korean casual food!
Bulgogi burger was delicious.
The Rice bowl was also just as good with a hefty portion!
Also the snack section is great to choose from.
Make sure to try the Melona ice cream bar if they have it!
What an incredible first experience here. It was a Tuesday evening and the restaurant was slow according to our waitress...the service was wonderful, the food was incredible...and the dessert (pretzel with cinnamon/sugar and a chocolate ganache). Bl
I had the pleasure of trying The Bishop for the first time last night while the hubby and I were in Albany for the afternoon. He asked for steak and I had heard good things, so off we went.

This was a lovely place to enjoy brunch! My waiter was absolutely phenomenal. The burger that I had was thick and juicy! Everything about this place gave off a clean, family-friendly brunch place. I definitely recommend for anyone who is in the area.
I have been working out at AMF for 14 months now and absolutely LOVE the results I have seen. Seth has created a program that appeals to all ages and body types. I will be 62 this month and feel the best I have in decades. Thanks Coach Seth!!
Such a cool place. Great beer, fabulous service, food is delish! Vibe is awesome with super friendly people and the place was hoppin! Very busy! You gotta go!
Just look at the size of this meatball sub (paper plate included for scale); these are all-beef and delicious; flavor well-balanced, sub roll fresh. (Their deli-wrap sandwiches, deli counter, pizza, and cheesy chicken parm, are all great, too.) Frie
We had our post-elopement "party" at Albany Distilling Company and could not have been happier with our decision! Natalie (the bar manager) went above and beyond to ensure our celebration was absolutely perfect. She really went the extra mile from th
Very fun activities.
It is one of a few activities where you can see a nice melting pot crowd. The best thing it is free for all of us to enjoy. Washington Park should be at the top of your list next time you come to visit us.
This little cash only place is a great find. The staff are all family. Friendly, and quick service. Your plate will be over flowing with the taste of the old fashion cooking. Definitely recommended to stop and eat here.
Great italian dishes with some vegetarian options. I ordered spaghetti with meatballs, and it was awesome. My wife ordered the eggplant Parmesan and we both loved it.
Great food at a great price ($4.99 per plate). Service is top notch. Glad I found this place!!!
