Great freshly made sandwiches, lattes, and coffee in a hip and artsy cafe. Apparently they became mildly Reddit famous, and I live up the street and was excited to finally visit one morning. I had the cheddar bacon bagel, and a chai, which was excellent. Some places go too heavy on the sugar and too light on the spice, but Rooz nailed the balance. They also have teas and smoothies, and I appreciate that the owner Steve had local art on the walls. A great visit and nice place to hang out, with both indoor and outdoor tables, and a dog friendly vibe.
Local cafe with a town feel. Location is nice. Friendly staff. Able to eat inside or outside. Sandwich was tasty. Pricey. Fresh. And messy. Make sure to grab a handful of napkins before you indulge.
Stumbled upon this jewel while walking with my wife and I’m amazed. The sign in the front says “coffee and more” and let me tell you, it lives up to that. This is not just a local cafe, this is a community gathering spot. The atmosphere is welcoming, vibrant, relaxed, and driven by the people. The grilled cheese was in every sense of the word, delicious. It felt like the grilled cheese you made the day you wanted to be a chef, but it had an extra layer of attention only a guy who wants to please a costumer could bring. The coffee was intentionally aromatic and of high quality, and a HUGE amount. It invites you to hang out and listen to the music while sipping your ceramic mug, and enjoying the plants by the window and the art on the walls. Simply put, this is the place where you want to and should come back to.
Just moved to the area and I have been on the look out for a good cafe nearby. This place checked all the boxes aside from being closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. But I get it.
The food was tasty and the ingredients were very fresh. The coffee was solid. But my favorite part about this spot was the space itself. It's big. Lot's of room to hang with a group but its just as easy to find an area to do some work privately. Good music, cool art. It has a local/neighborhood vibe with an edge to it. I'll be back.
I love this spot. They have great service food is always on point fresh and drinks are delicious. Very generous amount of sandwiches. Mimosas is a must at Rooz. The vibe is chill. What else can I say. I love everything about this place. I will be a regular. Plus it’s a very short walk from my neighborhood.
This is the best cafe in the neighborhood hands down. They allow dogs and have much more extensive food options than most cafe’s. The hummus and veggie bagel is a favorite. I like the ham and havarti croissant sandwich. Their smoothies are excellent. I just tried the pastrami sandwich, which was too notch. They know what they are doing in terms of food and ingredients.
Rooz is an awesome local coffee shop, the kind where neighbors hang out for hours. The owner is a great guy, works very hard and makes delicious coffee and sandwiches. Their sandwiches are top notch and affordable. Plenty of seating (and WiFi) so come and stay for a bit.
If you’ve got little ones, FM Smith Park is right across the street. Easy car parking, bike parking and a quick jaunt to Lake Merritt.
COVID hit this place hard so support a wonderful small business and treat yourself to good food, good coffee and good company.
Artsy little cafe with a good vibe for working remote. Coffee is good and there's a selection of bagels and sandwiches. Also, super cheap modelos!

Love to support small business inspired by family and culture and led by strong women! Highly recommend the latiya latte and champorado mocha (as well as their chicken empanada) ð we had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with co-owner Ari and l
Delicious buttermilk biscuit egg sandwich with avocado, caramelized onions with a side of roasted rosemary red potatoes coupled with a large lavender latte! At 10:30 a.m. on a Tuesday, this place was busy, but not overly busy. I was able to easily or
This is not the place to come with a laptop or friends and chill. The table layout should make that obvious before you enter.
It is a place to taste coffee.
A good thing to get is the Espresso Flight (pictured): for $11, it's a great taste journey.
I love their lox bagel. It's reliably good every time. And, you see that little condiment thimble? That's really tasty hot sauce I think they make themselves.
Points off on atmosphere because the second, big room inside has a really boring and bland
they offered to make a vegan sandwich! it was absolutely bomb. perfectly toasted bread, arugula, cranberries, onions, almonds, balsamic, i forget what else.. but it was GOOD. super friendly and quick service. of course, i love the story behind the pl

Great food, and awesome both for individual purchase and group take out! We have an on-site catering firm where I work, but for lunch meetings, I'll always swing by here and get sandwiches for our groups (5-20 people). I'm TERRIBLE at remembering t
Cozy, unpretentious yoga studio for people of all ages and abilities. I've only gone to this location one time so far but the instructor was great. Lots of natural light and a nice waiting area with clean restrooms and water available. Highly recomme
We went at 8pm and ordered a 6-piece buffalo wing and a pepperoni pizza. There was one man who was working the front and kitchen. He was extremely kind and friendly, and the food was ready quickly. We wish we had ordered more than 6 wings, as they we
