Awesome place to come for a walk and get away. Quite, easy hike. Walked there and biked there too. Enjoyed both.
Wonderful wooded trails, just be prepared for mosquitos/gnats/ticks depending on the season. The main trail is pretty flat, wide, and fast for running (like a well-maintained fire road). Bikes are allowed. The main trail is out and back or point to point (continuing east to Val-Kill and Top Cottage), but loops are possible via the lumpier/bumpier side trails. I visited twice in the morning and more or less had the place to myself. Everything is very shaded, it would be a good escape during the hotter/sunnier hours of the day.
Not challenging (no vertical) but nice trails in the woods. Lots of unmarked trails along with the marked ones. Plenty of skeeters spring to fall - but today was bug free. The leaves while past peak were stunning today.
I love the self guided tour! This loop had a nice mix of paved and unpaved trails with some muddy spots.
Great little system of trails. Great for walking, trail running, snowshoeing or even mountain biking. Park in the lots off Route 9 or 9G.
They have benefits doing a great job with the upkeep. The new bridges and parking areas look nice. I do wish the gravel was friendlier on wheel based items.
Way too many bugs! It was cold and windy today but I still got bitten multiple times with long sleeves and a sweater on! The trail was wide and easy. It was all quiet except for birds singing. It would be a great hike if there weren't so many vicious bugs.
This is a great trail. It's mostly paved or gravel and wide enough for a group of four to walk together easily. The trail itself is easy with sloping hills and soft turns but plenty long enough to give you a decent work out. My group walked it from Route 9 to 9G and back in about two hours. It also has these white signs posted along with way with a phone number and QR code to plug into your phone. Each sign gives you a number to enter and a recording will play about the history of that part of the trail. We really enjoyed listening to the recordings as we walked.
