Romer Waikiki at The Ambassador - Hotel in Honolulu - 2040 Kūhiō Ave., USA

Stayed for 10 nights in March 2024. Enjoyed this accommodation very much. Had a nicely renovated room near the top floor with lovely City/Ocean views. Having a balcony was a must have on our list of hotel features and the Roma did not disappoint. Staff were always very friendly and helpful. Only a short walk to the beach through a beautifully kept park. Probably not up there with the higher end hotels but good value for money for those on a budget. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Front desk staff was helpful. $120 of unexpected taxes on top of what I thought I was paying was a very unpleasant surprise. We stayed in other hotels with lower taxes in the area over the course of our trip. There were no pool towels at the pool area. Our bathroom didn’t have enough towels for the number of people on our reservation. There was a dead cockroach on the floor of the kids’ room. Pool chairs were quite dirty, which is really noticeable on white chairs. Lobby rugs are truly filthy. Our toilet wouldn’t stop running after being flushed. Housekeeping entered 45 minutes before checkout without being let in (we even had the do not disturb sign on the door!). Overall, very underwhelming, especially considering the price paid. Service given was friendly and helpful, but overall, the experience fell really flat

Hotel “looks nice” in the lobby area. The ice machine is on the 2nd floor along with the microwave. So if you were on the 10th floor you would need to take the elevator to heat up food or get ice on the 2nd floor. The rooms were horrible we woke up at 3am to bed bugs being all on my husband. They offered us to switch rooms which we did. So it was such an inconvenience to have to pack up and get moved. They later gave us a 100$ food and beverage credit. But the food they offer sucks. The second room they moved us to had roaches. Didn’t even bother telling them. We were well over the hotel stay and just wanted to leave. So if you wanna risk taking bed bugs home. Stay at this hotel

I really like this place and my rooms. Yes rooms. My husband and I had our own and my kids were in the adjoining room. My kids loved having bunk beds. My daughters were in the bottom double and my son on the top, twin bed. The only reason why I’m not five star is because housekeeping needs work. When I got to my room the first day there was ky jelly (lubricant) sitting by my door. In my shower there was a used razor with long hair in it. They only clean the rooms every other day. The first time my room was supposed to be cleaned they did not clean it but they cleaned my kids, the door between the room was wide open so I don’t know why they didn’t. I called the front desk and they promptly sent the staff and they cleaned my room. The next time housekeeping didn’t make sure my door was closed all the way (the door sits crooked and you have to actually close the door (not just let it go). We got back from being out all day to our door ajar. Thankfully nothing was missing!!! That’s a plus. Speaking of that. The safes are not bolted down so you can just pick it up and move them. Last thing about housekeeping they need to clean between the bunk bed and wall. My son dropped his phone charger there and when we were getting it we noticed an eye mask, a sock and underwear. I liked the lighting of the room. I really liked the light behind the bed. The front staff was really friendly. The valets were super nice.

The view from our room was beautiful! The staff was extremely kind and inviting. I love that the way to communicate with the staff is through text. It helps when requesting room service or asking about local attractions or the beach rentals that come with the stay.

Super military deal that included resort fees, valet parking, free beach chairs and umbrella and free bike rentals!! Paid less than we would have paid to stay at another resort of same star and review rating. Front desk staff (Anna Maria, Sherine and Gerard are who we interacted with) were absolutely excellent in customer service.

I frequent Waikiki throughout the year for work and have stayed at Romer at Ambassador several times. The property was recently renovated, rooms have a nice modern Hawaii chic feel. The pool, Waikiki Swim & Social, is fantastic for a little down time after a day of work. The food is fantastic, one of the best smash burgers I’ve ever had. I’m also a big fan of the merch, I’ve grabbed a few things on my last visit. I heard they’re opening a restaurant sometime before the end of the year which makes the property even better than it already is. Highly recommend!

Everything looks nice at first, but there’s a lot lacking, especially with housekeeping. Over 12 days, we never got an adequate cleaning and refreshing of the items in the room. I constantly had to ask the front desk for things, which gets annoying. Other guests had similar issues. There’s a lack of communication about amenities. It’s too bad, since we go to the area often, and the room itself was nice.
