Rolling Waves Beach Cottages - Indoor lodging in Longboat Key - 6351 Gulf of Mexico Dr, USA

I've been coming to Rolling Waves since I was 26 years old in 2004; it's 2023, I'm 46, and I'm still in love with the laid back, "old Florida" feel. The cottages are nothing fancy, but that's exactly the point. With the amazing views and the beach only steps away (I mean that literally, unlike most beach places where that translates to "3 blocks away") it's an amazing place to truly unwind.

Shelley, the property manager is Great!! Very responsive and very nice! The cottages are so perfect! Everything you need, besides food! The bed was SUPER comfy! And our guests enjoyed the sofa bed! Who ever says they enjoy a sofa bed, right?? I can attest, it was comfy! Laundry facility on-site! Outdoor shower which is awesome after a day at the beach. The beach access and private beach are PHENOMENAL!!!! It was hardly busy and there is so much wildlife to enjoy! An excellent place to kick back and relax!!! I will say, time of year makes a huge difference. I went in June and it was clear skies and calm waters, and just Heaven. September was different, lots of sea weed in the water, it rained alot. This was all Mother Nature, nothing against RWC. If you want a dreamy stay, I'd go in the summer months. But if chillin in the cottage, enjoying a book and rain suits you, this may be your Heaven! Everyone has their dream vaca right!? Thank you so much Shelley for such a memorable Honeymoon we hadn't had til now!!! Your awesome! And we can't wait to come back!💜

We stayed in #7 which is one of their beachfront properties (the other one is #8). The cottages are so cute! I loved the Old Florida vibe and the landscaping. Inside the cottage had a full kitchen, tv, WiFi, living room, bedroom with king sized bed and a bathroom. They provide guests with beach chairs, towels, dvd/book library, and a charcoal grill as well. The property has a communal fire pit and hammock. Shelley, the manager, was nice and friendly. The beach is just a short walk down the wooden boardwalk and we practically had the beach to ourselves both days. Great for shelling and fishing. My only complaint was the floor in our cottage seemed dirty. I understand it’s on the beach but it was beyond just sand; our feet were black within minutes of walking around no matter how many times we washed them. They didn’t look dirty either, they just needed a quick Swiffer wet jet or steam clean. It won’t keep me from coming back though, next time I’ll just try remember to pack socks.

What a precious, quaint and private setting! We loved our stay and look forward to booking for next year as well. Shelly, who runs the place was so friendly and helpful. The cottages were clean, comfortable and supplied with almost all your needs. You only need a bag as beach chairs are available for you. The beds and sheets were so comfortable. The cottages are very, very comfortable. This is our eighth year for a two-week vacation in this lovely part of Florida. Cottage # 7 looks out on the ocean, has a nice shady porch and is clean, well-equipped with A/C, barbecue, wifi, comfortable furniture and a nice kitchen. One of the best features is Shelley - the manager. She looks after every detail, is attentive, friendly and definitely dependable. The surrounding property is nicely maintained. Close to a number of seafood restaurants, there are lots of nice choices to enjoy.

We've stayed a week at Rolling waves now for about the last 5 or 6 years. It's quiet and very relaxing. The cabins give a little bit of feel of Old Florida, and the beach is wonderful! Not far from grocery and restaurants. St. Armand's Circle is just down the road about 15 minutes. Shelley is the onsite manager and deals with any problems that may come up. She's great!

We have been coming here for 4 years and have ALWAYS had only positive experiences. We discovered Rolling Waves when we obtained a new dog & we're looking for a dog friendly get away place. Right away we were made to feel at home. The cottages are a perfect mixture of "old Florida" and perfect solitude right on the beach. They are well equipped, with plenty of everything you will ever need. The kitchens are equipped with gas stove & oven, plenty of utensils, flatware, dishes and a full-sized refrigerator. I even was able to make 2 pies from scratch last Thanksgiving! The nicest people stay here & often gather around the fire pit in the evenings or on the beach to watch the fabulous sunsets. Shelley, the property manager is superb at making everyone feel welcome. She is definitely one of the reasons we keep on coming back! This really is Paradise!

Ok , suppose your grandparents have had an oceanfront cottage forever. It’s a simple place with furniture chosen for comfort and it hasn’t changed in years except for a new tv and now they have WiFi because the grandkids like it. The shower has lots of hot water since Uncle Jim loves a long hot shower but the bathroom is small and in the 40s you did not need much counter space. The bed is comfortable . There is air conditioning and heat if you need it. Pets are allowed but not on the beach. |You get here and all your stress just dissolves. You don’t have to be fashionable or wonderful or keep to any kind of schedule. A charming path that has sprouted many more sitting places since the grandparents have gotten older leads to a quiet stretch of ocean beach that has the best sunsets ever. There’s a fire pit if you like . Many good restaurants are close and menus have been saved so you can choose easily. |I think it’s perfect. |
