Roger Sherman Inn - Featured Reviews (151)
I stayed at the inn for three nights and it was really lovely and felt like I was sleeping in someone’s guestroom. The breakfast is served very simply, but in the pretty bar room. The front desk staff is simply amazing. They were all so kind, especially Maya and Jennifer. I also took my mother here that same weekend for Mother’s Day dinner. The food was just out of this world. I will be back for sure!!!
Outstanding food and service at brunch. JP was an amazing host and super accommodating for our group of 10. A last minute request for a large birthday cake was cheerfully fulfilled and it was without question an amazing carrot cake!
Food 5/10
Ordered a lot of food, but the duck was a bit dry. Oysters were very much just okay. The bok choy helped lighten my meal, but otherwise it overall was just an “okay” meal.
Atmosphere 8/10
A typical inn restaurant, white linen clothes and tables. A little on the formal side. The bathroom was very interesting with its butterfly wallpaper.
Service 8/10
Good service.
Decrepit, sad, depressing, miserable. The " guesthouse" should be torn down and rebuilt. This place has not been touched since the 60's or whenever they built it. Dark with pitiful furnishings that look like they picked them up off the curb. Bathroom is horribly outdated and has zero surface to put your things on and one towel bar and one hook. The shutters are literally falling apart. There was a hole in the wall that someone had put some plaster in partially filling it but never finished the repair. No water in room except for purchase. Coffee and banana bread and yogurt available for breakfast.|Do not stay here.
This was our second dinner there and everything was first rate, including the wine selection. We had the lobster bisque and an endive salad, followed by roast duck and a ribeye steak. They have a well stocked bar and a list of special house cocktails. We had a superior rose and chardonnay with dinner, after starting with a round of drinks from the bar. Everything from the ambience to the quality of the food and service was welcoming and first quality. We always leave there looking forward to returning. Very simply, expensive but worth it.
The Inn is darling, but the rooms are underwhelming. The a/c is super loud and disruptive (don't plan on sleeping) and we had a very large beetle bug in our bedding, which was quite alarming! The bathrooms are tiny and need updating. Bring a bar of soap because they provide one dinky bar that barely suds up while bathing. We didn't eat at the Inn, so we can't comment on the dining experience. The location is great, though. You can easily walk into town. We were excited to stay here, but unfortunately, we won't be booking this hotel again.
My wife, her parents and I went to Roger Sherman Inn for dinner and had a wonderful time. The food was so delicious and the service was impeccable. I ordered a special which was a filet mignon and it melted in my mouth. One of the best meals I've had in a long time. I wish I took a picture of the food. Everything looked so perfectly made and displayed amazingly. I would recommend Roger Sherman Inn to anyone and giving it five out of five stars.
Edit: they have complimentary coffee and popcorn available while you wait.
We had a private dinner here. Food is very good. Service is good. The bar has some issues. Overall a very quaint place I would visit again. Did not spend the night at the Inn.
Very beautiful park, great sledding in the winter, great for walks, great variety in the scenery.
The greenhouse/canopy/mansion area is just beautiful, very well maintained, the variety in the flora is beautiful.

Our visit to the farm near New Canaan, just a 1.5-hour drive from NYC, was a delightful experience. Surrounded by picturesque landscapes, the farm offered an array of fresh, delicious produce that epitomized farm-to-table freshness.

We went here for a late lunch after touring Glasshouse. The service was great, patio perfectly shaded and the dishes we ordered were ð¤ð¼ yummy ð¤¤. We started with guacamole and plantain chips - portion was a bit small. Then two of us got flati
The pizza was absolutely delicious. A slight crunch on the bottom and a little char on the crust with perfect fresh mozzarella. The hostess/waitress was lovely and my pizza was out so fast! Inside feels a bit cramped, but overall a great experience.
From the moment we stepped into this quaint Italian bistro, we knew we were in for a treat. The warm and inviting ambiance set the stage for what was to be an unforgettable dining experience.

It was our first time at south end tonight and we absolutely loved everything! The octopus was perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. We had the scallop risotto as well as the duck and both were fantastic. Finished off with the ricotta donuts. Sout
