Rodeway Inn Oceanside Marina - Featured Reviews (681)
I really enjoy Oceanside a lot, especially when I need to get away or need my time to breathe. So, I decided to rent the family room because I'm looking forward to taking a little trip with them. Grandchildren were ready for the pool and they really enjoyed it. A day came when I needed time to leave out of the room for service cleaning. Wife takes time because she's disabled and she requires a lot of patience and that is important to me for her and me. Asked lady who knocked at door for 5 minutes and explained reason of wife's situation. Lady said that she's only collecting towels first and she'd come back. Seemed a little impatient but understood. While cleaning, we were downstairs at pool area with grandchildren, I noticed that same cleaning lady had family visiting her. They were staring at wife with portable oxygen on, which is rude and made her feel very uncomfortable. Also the children that her family had were looking down at my grandson who is overweight and were commenting to each other and laughing while looking at him too. Furthermore, her family member was trying to communicate with her and walked in the doorway a bit, entering a little but still visible from my view from pool area. I was very upset about the services, especially when we arrived back to the room, the cleaning lady said that she or another individual would be bringing towels. There were no towels or ready because they were being washed. I would imagine that Rodeway would have more than plenty of towels to provide for customers who are paying for the stay in general! Someone came and handed my grandson the towels at the door 🙄. Some service operation! Also, the cleaning lady stated that they don't change the sheets every day for the tenants staying longer, only every other day. I would appreciate some freshness, after all, I'm paying for what I need, what I owe myself and what I could use, pampering. Why not? Overall, I really appreciate the front desk services. The front receptionist was very helpful, patient, kind and welcoming. I appreciate that. She even lend us extra towels that we needed, we are a big family. Thank you to her! Just the cleaning service needs change and boundaries for the hotel, otherwise, I like the hotel but not the cleaning services. Why bring her whole family and her brats up to our room and act like we were the circus? Rude! Maybe change the cleaning service.
I requested an "ocean view" room and got one on the 3rd floor and that was really the highlight of my stay. The commuter train does pass a couple times an hour during the day but it didn't really disturb me. The room is open and the windows go from floor to ceiling. Good location which is close to the highway. However, this hotel is very dated inside and out. The carpets in my room had not been vacuumed as there were crumbs and dirt visible. The furniture was in rough shape and the fridge looked like someone had taken a few swings to it with a baseball bat. The bed was okay but I found long hairs on the sheets and embedded in some towels. My stay was paid for by points so I'm letting a lot slide. If I had paid $120 or whatever the normal rate was it would be a lower rating.
We checked into an ocean view room for an extra 40$ and I would say it was worth it. We were planning on moving to a regular room later in the week. My wife loved the view so much we stayed in that suite all week. At abt. 140$ a day it's certainly affordable.
For the price, I thought the room & location were good. I didn't see any bugs in my room. Some of the furniture was a little banged up but that's to be expected if you're not staying in a $300+ a night place, how would they afford to replace it that often? Bed was comfortable, felt like a pillow top. Stayed in a king ocean view room. Maybe it depends on the kind of room you get for the complaints. But I enjoyed my stay & plan to book the same kind of room here next year.
So the Review is based off the fact they had mice/a rat in my room and NO one really cared. Like this is normal for them. EGOBBI was there when I checked in an out 2 days early due to a rat running from the closet to the TV. In room 134 next to the pool. Egobbi (NO ONE WEARS NAME TAGS you'll have to ask) did refund me for the days I was leaving early and told me IOANA the manager would call me the next day and refund me the day of the mouse run. CHECKED IN ON SUNDAY AFTER 3 PM AND WAS OUT MONDAY THAT NIGHT. I called because I hadn't heard from anyone the next evening SPOKE TO CLAM she hung up in my face after I told her I didn't feel like she was being sympathetic to the situation after explaining (like that's something they should all know about working there) that I left early due to a rat an was waiting for the manager to call back. She replied I don't know why I would be sympathetic, an then proceeded to hang the phone up in my face. Wednesday the day I was supposed to check out, I stopped by to see if manager was there. IOANA was EXTREMELY RUDE an asked me what else was I looking for, why should she call me back, an did anyone apologize.... WHICH SHE DID NOT. I can't belive these 2 ladies are working at a front desk or with people in general. Customer service is at a all time low. The issue has not been resolved. I want a follow up on case 12399228. Alejandra Delgado was amazing at the choice rewards call center. I knew to record during visit to see if manager was there because Clam was already being rude and I wasnt sure I'd be safe. I do have a sound recording of this conversation. ABOUT THE ACTUAL LOCATION ITS NICE ROOMS ARE HUGE AND THE POOL GOES UP TO 8 FT SOME OF THE ROOMS LOOK OVER THE WATER BUT ITS NEXT TO A HUGE CANYON. WISH the front desk was pleasant and no rats. I'd definitely be back price should have been cheaper noting they have rodents. If you have kids I wouldn't stay here if they have rodents they have rat poop an that's unhealthy. If your a Crack head or homeless I guess.
Watch out for the woman named Clem! I have never experienced such rudeness in my life. I know others have posted regarding her. I don’t see how she’s able to keep a job with such poor customer service. Not only did she hang up on me twice when I was trying to speak to her on the phone about the dirty washcloth that was hanging on the top of the shower curtain, when we decided to check out she did not listen to me just talked over me without apologizing. By this time it was 9 o’clock at night and my husband and I had to go find another hotel to stay at. Take my advice and don’t stay there!
Very clean and comfortable rooms with good bed and bedding, mini fridge, microwave and flatscreen TV with many channel choices. Excellent customer service by everyone I encountered. Great housekeeping. Wonderful sunset views from many rooms and balconies. Excellent location with a In-N-Out Burger across the street.
Positive: Excellent location... Walking distance for food and beach. Room is also very spacious. Negative: As others described... AC a bit noisy, homeless people walking around, room a bit humid. Very dated and in need of a modern upgrade.
I have stayed at this place two separate times, and both experiences were wonderful. My most recent stay was in the two story room, it was beautiful, comfortable and spacious. The beds are all very comfortable, the kitchen space was great, there was
We stayed here for about a month while an insurance claim was being taken care of. We loved the staff and got to know them well. Beds were comfy, rooms were spacious and we loved to firepit and pool areas. We stayed in room 123 which I would advise a
Wish they had a room with a hot tub available I would have paid extra. Other than that it was great. Good pricing. Clean rooms. Hot water. Thereâs food down there in the am to purchase. The bottle water is $7 a piece though so bring some before you
Good hotel in a good location. Fairly priced. Found my room unclean and lacking the commonly provided toiletries. What was annoying was that we were forced to leave the lobby while I was trying to eat dinner with my co worker. This felt unprofessiona

Fantastic beer tasting room. They have 20 plus beers on tap and dozens more in bottle. A real locals hang where the crowd is relaxed and conversation is lively. Located right off the 76 across from the Oceanside airport. Parking is a bit limited.
Iâm so happy my husband found this place. He was raving about it for months and finally convinced me to check it out. So glad I did. Everyone is so welcoming and theyâre family friendly. Great teachers, community, and amenities as well as great p
