This hotel was just fine for what I needed. The price was very reasonable compared to other options. Sure, there were some areas needing improvement. As other reviews mentioned, it is hard to get towels. My room had no washcloths, and when I asked the front desk staff for some, they said the laundry people hadn’t brought them any. Also, the pool is closed, the rooms don’t have irons, and there is some overall wear and tear. Still, the room was clean, and I had a good experience with the front desk staff. Don’t choose this hotel if you’re looking for a superb experience, but if you are looking for something simply affordable and clean, it’s a great option. The location is a benefit, too, as there are several dining options nearby.
do not let the pictures deceive you this place is an absolute dumpster fire. Me and my girlfriend checked in upon entry to our room there was poop and pee all clogged in the toilet we had bugs all over the wall and the lock on the door was completely broken. I killed a wasp spider and multiple flies before saying yeah nope. I immediately left only to find the staff telling me lies saying I had to call the company I booked from to get a refund they tried telling me the room was completely clean. Yeah nope. Please if you're thinking of booking here don't. The pictures of this place are absolutely ripped from google and a complete scam don't waste your money here.
Truly the worst night of sleep I’ve ever had. The pillows are flat, the blankets are stuffy, the bed is a brick, the rooms are stale, and it’s far overpriced for truly the most basic of accommodations. The only good thing is that the AC is strong but it’s loud so pick if you want to sleep hot or sleep with a lot of noise.
The hotel has great location close to the downtown plenty of restaurant and food options around the area the staff is great the checking process was so smooth Valerie who was at the desk she made it very easy, she is a star. The housekeeping staff were very nice also the restaurant was clean and very basic food but it was great overall.. rooms were very comfy and spacious had microwave and fridge inside that's a plus
There was an extremely negative experience of "staying" at this hotel. Perhaps I would have passed by and would not have written this review if it hadn't been for their lies. This disappointed me extremely. When we booked, the hotel contacted us and wrote that if there are available rooms, they can check us in earlier. Great. We arrived in Chicago around 9 a.m., I texted the hotel, but they didn't answer anything. We went for a walk to the center. It started to rain heavily and it didn't work out. Around 1 p.m., we decided to slowly move towards the hotel. Check-in is standard at 3 o'clock. While waiting for the train, while we went to a cafe to eat, we walked to the hotel to stretch the time. we came to him about 10 minutes before the standard check-in. There was a woman at the reception who silently took our documents and gave us the keys. OK. The room turned out to be on 1 of 2 possible floors, but in a turn, so the windows were in a dark passage. My husband was supposed to have a birthday in a couple of days and it darkened the mood. I went to the reception and asked for a bright room on the 2nd floor and told them about my birthday. She left without a word, then went in and gave me the keys to the room on the second floor. By that time it was already more than 3 hours (official check-in). We went to the second floor. We were satisfied with the room, but there was a terrible stench, as I am not a professional, I thought it was from the carpet, which was cleaned with chemicals. It was creepy. We opened the door and just stood there waiting for the smell to wear off. About 5 minutes. It didn't help. Then we closed the door and turned on the air conditioner, hoping that it would help. About 5 minutes. Unsuccessfully. It was the smell of marijuana, of course, I wouldn't have weathered it in 5 minutes or 10. When booking, I had the option of a free cancellation before 4 o'clock. I went to the reception, said that we couldn't stay here, that we wanted to cancel the reservation. The woman was extremely unhappy, but said that in this case she would charge for the first night, since we had already checked into the room, I once again said about the free cancellation and that we did not use anything in the room, only aired it. She refused, in which case we decided to leave the next morning, and in the meantime look for a place to move. We returned to the room. The time is 3:20. We understand that this smell will not allow us to sleep here. I'm calling in Booking.com I was on the line for 25 minutes waiting for the operator, but still had 15 minutes left to cancel. All this time we were sitting on the bed just waiting on the line. With Booking.com we have resolved the issue of canceling and booking another hotel. Thank them for their service, they are for the customers! I went to the reception and told them about the eviction and that I already had a cancellation letter. This woman pretended that we did not exist, was minding her own business when the Americans came in, it was "nice" to see her different attitude towards them and us. But I don't care. We left. Then I received a refund from the hotel minus the first night on the card. When we sorted it out through Booking, she said that literally "she gave us the honor of an early check-in," which stunned me, because it did not happen. Or has 2:55 instead of 3:00 already become an early check-in? And that we used a shower and towels. But that was an absolute lie!!! The main thing is, why do this? to resist and not return the money for the first night? It's not worth it! Honestly, I was completely shocked by such a "service". Just for no reason, even if you have nowhere to move in, do not go to this hotel.
On August 16,2024 Val was so sweet and fixed my problem for me! She was very professional quick and efficient. My issue was that I needed another night but was unable to book online and she took care of me right away! Thank you so much I will definitely be back for another stay.
Once I went in the room, there were spiders and flies scattered all over the room (dead and alive). I took pictures and showed the front desk lady and she said she would talk to her manager the next day and I would get a refund. I stayed at a holiday inn instead (which was much better). It has been almost two weeks and I have been calling Rodeway and Hotels.com several times throughout the past two weeks asking why I haven't got my refund yet. Rodeway said I have to contact Hotels.com which I did and Hotels.com said Rodeway Inn has not been responding to their emails and calls asking for confirmation to initiate the refund. Well, I would not recommend staying here unless you want bug infested rooms and a management that will lie and will not give you a refund. Thanks, Rodeway Inn.
I stayed here with my children for a few days just as a weekend get away. Checking in was very easy, and we were happy to have a room on the first floor. The rooms aren't anything special, but ours looked clean and well kept. The pool are could use some TLC but over all, it was one of my kids favorite places to hang out after we came back from our trips downtown. The hotel is in a good location, not too far from the brookfield zoo, and the brookfield train station. There is also a ton of places to eat long the strip. The breakfast is simple: waffles, oatmeal, bagels, juice, cereal, and coffee. if you need more than just waffles to fill up in the morning there are a couple of cute cafes to stop by and get a full breakfast. Staff was pretty polite when I was there, though we had very limited interaction. For the price, hotel was completely acceptable, and should we make more trips to Chicago, its likely we stay here again.
Great atmosphere and local spot for a drink or gatherings, DJ nights are always fun, and the pop up shops are great, lots of amazing vendors. Staff is amazing! Highly recommend!
