Rodeway Inn Clearwater-Largo - Hotel in Clearwater - 16405 US Hwy 19 N, USA

I've read through the rough reviews on this place and really haven't experienced anything negative. There does seem to be low income housing on the one side of the building, which didn't bother me really. There were a few children playing and riding bikes around, which set a nice vibe kinda. Yes there's a strip club next door, but it's not required that you visit or even look at it so I see no issue there either. Lots of bug reports in the reviews but we haven't seen a single bug. Sheets and towels were all super white and clean. The room smelled like it may have been smoked in at some point in the past but was not bad at all. We are non smokers and are normally annoyed by such things but it didn't bother us. It's a 2 star hotel folks. It seems like they may have been cleaning up their act here though. Not bad for the price. Didn't feel unsafe at any point. This isn't a sugar and lollipops type of place. You get clean beds, amenities, clean pool, laundry, shower, locking doors. Take it or leave it 🫡👍

This should be an hourly rate motel. The rooms are completely outdated, dirty, bathroom door was falling off the hinges, drains were filthy with flys and gnats, a disgusting excuse for a motel. I stayed a week only because I had 8 suitcases and no transportaption anywhere else. When I checked out and asked for my deposit back the first guy denied I paid one. The second one said he already refunded it to me which made no sense, I didn't check out yet.

Ewwwww.... Roaches around the microwave and the floor... Busted door and wall in the bathroom, toilet runs forever. The rooms are a nice size though, and the guy at the desk seems nice. If a 🪳 crawls on me I might die 👀😱. I'm just glad I have a bed to sleep on and AC 🤷🏻‍♀️

Zoro stars !!! The boss there is completely rude ! I was going to leave my hotel stay as dirt under the rug .. but I haven't gotten my money back and it's been 3 weeks and I called asking for him to send me , my folio to my email and " no I gave you one no" then hung up ! He refused to give me new sheets "no made here" (my baby had an accident on the bed) my friend in the other room found blood on the bed and asked for new sheets and it took them 3 days to get him new bed sheets. OH AND ITS NEXT TO A STRIP CLUB! (Just for other familys staying, so your not surprised lol) Pool was nice but he almost wasn't going to open it up for us "over a storm" that wasn't even in sight 🤦🏽 I suggest you are going to stay .. pay deposit with cash I guess 🤷 because apparently on card you won't get it back 🤬

STAY CLEAR AND FAR AWAY FROM BOOKING A STAY HERE. July 27th, 2024 Found a BEDBUG crawling next to my head. I freaked out when I turned my flashlight on and seen what the "bug" really was... (Picture attached to this review.) PURE FILTHINESS in bathroom! (As seen in the pictures) All bed blankets had burn holes, and stains/dirt on them. It seemed as if nobody really detail/deep cleans the whole room. (#215) Needless to say, I didn't get back into the bed after the bedbug incident. I literally just stood in the middle of the room to charge my phone for the night. WASTE OF MONEY!

Let me just say that I have not been more disgusted in my life. After driving several hours from NY to clearwater, I was looking for a 1 night stay at an affordable hotel. That is when I came across rodeway. Upon arrival I first took notice of how disorganized and dirty the front desk was. But I didn't think anything of it, that I'd until I entered the room. The walls and floors were dirty, mold all over the ceiling, and visible stains on bed sheets. After seeing the filth around me, I decided to lift the sheets and pull the bed off the wall, only to find a mattress embedded with tons of live bed bugs and bed bug feces. The sheets were damp to the touch as if they've been washed but not properly dried. I imediately walked out and requested a refund. But before leaving, my toddler was crying because she had to pee, so I took her into the room to pee and the man at the front desk was so rude and threatened to charge me for the day because I allowed my toddler to use the room restroom. His attitude was disgusting and disgraceful. They need to shut this place down ASAP.

Let me start by saying that this is by far the WORST stay that I have ever had. The room was down right nasty, and the customer service at the hotel was even worse. |We rented 2 rooms for 3 nights. |When we first got into the room and turned on the lights, they were so dim we could hardly see. We had to open the curtains in order to get light into the room. The first thing that I noticed was the flaky white substance that was on the decorative top sheet on the bed. It was super disgusting. The second thing that we noticed was the big dark colored stains on the red chair in the room. The stains covered almost the entire chair. The lamps were stained and the inside looked like there was oil or grease inside of them. The air conditioner was covered with dirt and dead bugs as well. I made my way over to the sink in the room and the cabinets, I opened the cabinet next to the sink to discover a mixture of mouse poop, food, and dirt inside the cabinets. I opened the drawer under the cabinet only to discover that the smoke alarm was located inside the drawer with the battery removed. Opening the microwave door, it was no shock to me how nasty the inside was covered with food and burns. The walls had holes in several places and they were covered with dirt and stains. In the bathroom the floor had not been cleaned as it was covered with dirt and filth. Under the sink in one of the rooms was a pipe coming from the wall covered in what looked like dirty foam insulation. Inside the shower there were gobs of dark black hair wiped on the walls of the shower and it looked like the bath/shower had not been cleaned. |I did not expect much because the rooms were just somewhere to shower and sleep, so that I could visit my sick friend. So my husband and I went to Wal-mart and bought our own blankets and some cleaning supplies for the room. We came back, cleaned the room, and took showers. I sent my kids to go get fresh towels from the housekeepers. The housekeeper told my kids that they could not have any towels. I went down and spoke to the housekeeper who told me that she only had enough towels on her cart to put in the rooms that she was cleaning so I needed to call the front desk for towels. I contacted the front desk only to be told that they were not going to give us any more towels because we had just checked in that morning. He told me to contact the front desk in the evening for towels. My family and I went out for the entire day (12+ hours) to visit my friend and to go to the beach. We got back to the room and I called the front desk for towels again. The man at the desk refused to give me towels. He said that he was not going to give me towels and that I would have to call in the morning to speak with the manager. My kids and I were not able to take a shower that evening because we did not have any towels to dry ourselves off with. I waited until the morning to contact the front desk again. The front desk AGAIN refused to give us towels and said that there would not be a manager available until Monday at the hotel. (This was on Friday.) We went out and got something to eat and went back to the hotel and tried to check out, only to be told that we would be charged for the night anyway because it was 11:13am and check out time was 11am. I was again told that I could speak with the manager on Monday. I was told yet again that I could not have any towels. When I left I spent over an hour on the phone with Choice, only to be told that they had to give the property a chance to "make things right" before they could do anything for me since I was still checked in. (Not by my choice, I tried to check out.) I spent the entire day again out with my friend, and returned late that evening. I discovered there were 3 towels in our room and 3 towels in our children's room. (They were aware that we had 2 double rooms and 4 people per room.) The towels had to be shared that evening in order for our children to be able to shower. (Sadly we were only given towels because I had to call Choice.) Due to my daughter not being able to have a shower that evening she developed a rash. The next day we got up early, and got our things ready to check out of the room. A bug was found crawling around on the NASTY red chair that was in the room. I was never so happy to be leaving somewhere!!! |After taking our stuff to the vehicle, I went to the front desk to check out. The man at the front desk was really rude and disrespectful. He gave me the receipt for room 311 but refused to give me the receipt for room 315. While standing there speaking to me, the man reaches across the desk and attempts 3 separate times to snatch the receipt for room 311 out of my hand. I pulled the paper away and asked him not to try to snatch things out of my hands. After a couple minutes of him raising his voice at me, he hands me another paper receipt for room 315 that did NOT match the receipt for room 311. (Both rooms were the same price.) On my bank account, the hotel charged me for 3 nights, when in fact we were only there for 2 nights. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!!! |There still has been no satisfactory resolution for this horrible experience!!! The hotel has done NOTHING to make things right and they refuse to let you speak with the General Manager.

Be aware this motel is next to strip club. The motel may look nice outside but not clean in the inside. We only stayed 2 days. Good luck getting your deposit back we been trying and they will give you the runaround. Not worth the stay, if you can spare $20 bucks more look towards the other side of US19 or more towards Largo. NOTE!! On one side of the building (side by side to night club) is the motel side. On the other side of the building looks like rent to low income families. Be aware as you leave the building. I only gave it a two because of the access to US19.
