Rodeway Inn Alameda-Oakland - Featured Reviews (405)
One of my favorite hotels in the bay for sure. Well worth the $100 a night. Thank you for making sure the rooms are so nice. I don’t think you know how appreciative I am. After staying in some dumps. This place feels like a 5 star hotel. Definitely recommend. I miss that bed already.
Reserved non-smoking room and was given a room that smelled strongly of cigarettes. The next room was apparently non-smoking and had burn holes in the blankets. Dirty floors and toilet. The walls need cleaning, patch, and paint. My friends said theirs was clean and looked good. I checked out and went to Hawthorne down the street.
Didn’t stay because of the roaches! The check-in lady opened the window 3 inches to help us. When I asked if we could come in the room because of all the homeless wondering the parking lot she said no. When we got into the room there were roaches everywhere. The room was dirty, kitchen stove had food still on it, stains on the walls. The floor was bumpy and Mia colored with worn holes in it. Left in 20 mins when we found another hotel for $40 more in a better location with secure entrance, great lobby, pool, free breakfast and a lake view. Horrible experience. Booked based on choice hotels online customer service recommendation. Won’t trust this brand of hotels again.
The worst Motel experience in our 3 week vacation.
Fridge was fully frozen and fridge didn't close. We had to get rid of the ice ourselves to make the fridge work again.
Walls thin as paper so you hear every fart of your neighbors.
Finally we had to catch a few roaches.
I checked into my room at 3pm 7/30/2024. Once I swipe the keycard to enter the room the smell of DOG hit my nose really bad. It was repulsive. I seen an older lady with a clipboard so I asked her if she was the manager she said “no I’m house keeping..” I said okay nvm then I’ll go downstairs and speak with check in & she said “ oh just tell me. I can fix it” I told her about the smell & the VERY FIRST thing she says was” if you want I can give you a refund we are completely booked so I can’t switch you out rooms..” I see a can freshener in her hand so i asked her to spray the room and she said” oh that won’t help..” I’m like oookkayyy. The vibe was rude and extremely obtuse. I told her I didn’t book the room so let me make a call and she said” okay well let me know in 10 min. So I can still give the room to some else..” I was like sure.. I decided to stay due to me having the long drive to the bay and this was literally my first time in alameda ( the Bay Area period!! I was so excited to be there.. smh) not even 3 minutes later she’s knocking on the door asking me if I would like to stay so I said yes then she offered a room ( another guest HAD JUST left) i would have to wait for the maids to clean it so I politely declined AND THEN she offers to sprinkle baking soda on the carpet and proceeded to tell me that it might help with the smell due to the carpet getting shampooed the previous day. I declined at this point I’m exhausted. I slept woke up later in the day ( night time 10 pm exactly) I wake up to roaches EVERYWHERE ALL OVER THE SINK , MICROWAVE, Dresser, and MOST OF ALL THE BED!! They were crawling all over me!! The most repulsive thing I’ve ever experienced. I went down stairs told the night shift check in clerk ( she was such a sweetheart) but there wasn’t much she could do since it was late in the day but she did WRITE down my complaint. I went back to the room and threw away my 1 shirt that had fell on floor after finally reading the reviews about roaches and bed bugs!! I I threw away so much. didn’t want to bring them with me! I came home took of the clothes I was sleeping in at the room and threw those away and took a shower before relaxing in my own bed ( 2 hour drive back home ) I didn’t even want to be out there anymore after that. Never ever returning there 🤢🤢🤢
Today (4/16/24) woke up covered in flea bites. The manager refused to comp the room because "i waited until the morning to tell him there were fleas".
He was extremely rude.
I was exhausted and it was 10pm. I fell asleep right away and didn't notice
This morning I had flea bites all over my legs, chest and neck . Then I saw the floor was covered in flea feces.
Manager told me to "get the F out of here"
So, I called the Alameda Health Department and they are going to inspect the rooms today.
Absolutely awful and I will get my money back one way or another.
My clothes and bags had fleas on them and so they also got into my car. I had to wash everything and have my car interior detailed.
0 stars.
They don't clean their rooms. Bedsheets, towels, and the shower were spotted with hair. And the towels were hard and dry as if they just rinsed it off in the sink and hung it up. Roaches come out at night in the bathroom, and their micro-fridge is very loud. When asking for new towels, the general tone from the innkeeper is that he didn't care. If we could check out and get a refund a day early- we would. Rather sleep in a car than here.
I'm impressed with my room! Very clean and comfortable. Nice selection of TV channels and air conditioner works perfect! I'm really happy about the receptionist how she treated me with check-in. She matched the third parties room rate. I know there's a lot of hidden reviews on this place but it is not a Hilton or Ritz-Carlton. What is the roadway in and you do save money. But for the price I would not complain and I would stay here! I stay here somewhere rundown hotel and dumps that are depressing. This is far from it and very presentable.|The tile looks good in the bathroom. Could use a little more detailed cleaning in the bathroom. I have nothing to complain about.
I was eating across the street and noticed Pinball Museum sign. I'm always very curious, so I walked in and was blown away.
More than what I imagined. Cashier explained everything in detail and broke down pricing and gave me a brief description and
Very unique old school video arcade located in Alameda's busiest commercial district. Pay for unlimited plays for a certain amount of time.
Decent selection of games range from the oldies like centipede and Pac-Man and Tron up to somewhere more mode
The drip coffee was bold and had good flavor. My wife liked her matcha latte. We also had an Ube Mochi cake which was amazing. The staff were friendly and quick. Iâll be coming back here.
Hidden gem in Alameda! Or maybe itâs not a hidden gem, and everyone knows this place. Regardless, all the dishes that we ordered were really good.
- Basil fried rice (super fragrant)
- BBQ lemongrass pork ribs (fall off the bone tender)
- Stuffed c
My partner and I stopped in here for a light dinner. We had a few cocktails and tried the charcuterie board and Margarita flatbread pizza. We really enjoyed everything we tried and had an amazing night. We will definitely be coming back here for date
Great variety of local beers on tap ranging from juicy IPAs to malt-forward stouts, all made with Admiral Maltings' malted grain. They even had local whiskies made with their malts, (will have to try those next time), and they offer tours of their fa
Nice and cool area with the breeze from the bay air. Perfect place for large and small dogs. Pretty bustling on the weekends with so many pups playing. There's always a trashcan within and reach to drop off the dookies.
