I don’t think I will ever go to another resort! Patty and her husband are the nicest people around! I Definitely recommend this resort! We had a leaf spring break on our fish house and they were extremely helpful and let us borrow the tools we needed to get it fixed.
If I could rate a 0 star I would. Probably the rudest people alive. The owner, all the way down to the employees are horrible people. The fishing is nothing to brag about there. Every time I’ve gone with friends and family (not my choice) we’ve never caught a thing. Whenever I talk or try to communicate with anyone there, they try to make me feel like less than a person. So if you want to enjoy fishing with friends or family I would defiantly would recommend going somewhere else!!
went to rocky reef to ice fish. the road pass for the ice road were reasonably priced, and the lady who helped me was very nice and took the time to answer my questions. I don't fish mille lacs often. I will be going back this weekend. also the guys on the ice roads were nice as well. only 4 stars because I don't know about the rest of the place.
We always enjoy stopping in at the Rocky Reef Patty the owner is a very professional helpful great personality person. We also enjoyed the food And drinks it’s a fun place highly recommend it. And by the way the kitchen was rated the top restaurants in Minnesota for cleanliness. The food is always fresh and delicious.
Amazing resort! Family owned and operated, one of the best in the business. If your looking for a nice place to rent or pull out a fish house you can’t go wrong with rocky reef…
To be fair to the owners, we can only rate Cabin #3. We did not eat in the restaurant or drink at the bar. We rented cabin #3 for two nights and left after the first night. We did not ask for a refund but feel it necessary to let anyone not familiar with these fishing cabins, know what to expect. At best, this was a $60/night cabin. We were charged $275, for the two nights. From the outside, they're cute and the view is truly stunning. We have stayed in many very simple fishing cabins and do not expect 5 star accommodations, HOWEVER, we do expect cleanliness and prefer to have everything to be in working order, especially at that price. Cobwebs big enough to trap hummingbirds, hairs on the stove that didn't work, sticky goo on cabinet doors so thick my hand stuck to it, refrigerator making a loud banging sound every time the compressor would kick on, leftover hairs and other grossness in the shower were the main things that made us check out early. We made the best of it the first night since we had just drove 11 hours to get there...it was shelter with a bed to sleep in. That is all.
Stayed in an ice house for a couple nights and had a great time. Owners are awesome people and took good care of us. Everything was clean and the ice house was comfortable. Had a delicious burger at their bar. Caught some fish and a nice walleye, and overall we have nothing but excellent things to say about this place- 10/10.
The couple that own and run this place are super nice! The cabins are always clean and stocked with what you may need. The Bar and Grille there serves excellent burgers! Mille Lacs Lake is right across the road! So you have a beautiful view from any cabin you stay in! I definitely recommend staying here!

Recommended by our friends as we were in the area. Great burgers and fries! The burger was juicy and flavorful and the fries came out super hot and fresh. Will eat again if ever in the area. Only drive thru available.
This might be my favorite MN State Park. There are hiking/skiing/horseback trails, I particularly like Landmark Trail with it's wonderful views of interesting terrain and Ogechie Lake. The archeological/anthropological information is fascinating, an
I like smaller places like this, the staff talk to you like an old pal, the food was a little expensive but almost everything is if your located near a casino! Overall, other then expense, they were a bit understaffed. Overall, cool place to grab a b
We stopped by to spend the night on our way to Itasca State Park.
The booking and checking process went easy and smooth. We made the reservation using the KOA app. They had everything ready for us in a booklet when we arrived late at night.
