I picked this site to visit as it was close to the resort I was at (Meadowview) and was a 20-minute drive from there. I arrived at 9 and since there were no other visitors, I had the tour guide to myself! Rocky Mount Historic Site is a wonderful place to visit. It is a well-maintained historic site and I highly recommend visiting this site if you are ever in the Piney Flats area. I especially enjoyed the guided tour of the museum and the Cobb-Massengill House while learning history of this area and the state of Tennessee. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and informative, and she brought the history of the house to life and answered all my questions. I also enjoyed walking the trails after the tour, which offered stunning views of the surrounding countryside.

Had a great time and learned alot about the time period in East Tennessee. The volunteers were quite knowledgeable and entertaining. I would recommend the stop to anyone in the area who enjoys history.

We went to the Candlelight Christmas event and it was extraordinary. It was like you got teleported back in time, learned where several Christmas traditions came from and got to try some snacks in the kitchen with Mrs. Martha Cobb (those apple cakes were amazing). The Christmas market at the end was also full of amazing and talented crafters.

The tour is absolutely worth your time and the cost. Seeing and learning about the time period through re-enactments and live tour guides left us feeling immersed in the experience. Experiencing the culture of the time and the sheer number of artifacts in the home leave a full picture of the Cobb family and their guests stay.

Loved the homeschool day activities (all the way from Texas!) and meeting all of the educators who so wonderfully shared the life skills of a working 1700s farm. Thank you for a great day of education and enjoyment! If I can share one tip it is to make sure to read your confirmation email for the link to participate in each activity.

The harvest festival was great. All the volunteers were very friendly and knowledgeable kids 8 and 11 were engaged for hours there at the different stations and buildings.

Extremely friendly workers and amazing actors. I get bored easily when listening to people talk about a location but the people they have volunteering/working here know what they're doing. They keep anyone at any age engaged. If you're looking for somewhere to take photos this is an awesome place.

Made a quick stop at the Rocky Mount State Historic Site in Piney Flats, TN. Rocky Mount, in Piney Flats, Tennessee, also known as the Cobb-Massengill House, was the first territorial capital of the Southwest Territory. The property of William Cobb, the original residence at Rocky Mount served as the territorial capital from 1790 to 1792
