It's a true local joint. A little intimidating for a new visitor. Very busy and not obvious how the system to order works. Get in line and the staff will take your order quite efficiently. Try not to slow them down! Order your food, pay, and then grab your table. Food is excellent and a good value. Try the Oyster Poboy.

Rocky and Carlo’s is a family restaurant with great service that actually care about their customers and amazing tasting food that your mother might have made if your mother was an excellent cook. I loved this place. Try the veal it’s amazing.

While in the New Orleans area during business, my coworkers suggested going to this restaurant and try their shrimp, poor boy, veal and mac, and cheese. My coworker and I did. We thought they were very good, and the size of the servings were huge. I also ordered salted caramel cheesecake, no disappointments!

There isn’t a time in Saint Bernard Parish that I don’t stop to eat at this wonderful local’s restaurant. I brings you back in time and not much has changed here since the 60’s. The food is delicious and the portions are large.

I have to say, whenever I'm in St. Bernard parish I'm craving a meal from Rocky and Carlo's. Friday afternoon I picked up a fried shrimp dinner with fries for my son, the wife got the crab cakes and eggplant dressing, and I got the fried catfish and macaroni and cheese. It was delicious. Everything is made fresh, great quality. Never a let down. Thanks

TLDR: HUGE portions, okay food. We went in to have lunch at this restaurant at the urgence of everyone we've met who is from the area. Let me tell you, they were not lying about the HUGE portion sizes! We love supporting small, local businesses and this one has been in business for decades, reopening after hurricaines, COVID and even a fire! Kudos to them for reopening and not calling it quits! As for the food itself, we thought it was okay. We were expecting GREAT food based on what locals have told us. We were especially excited about the Mac n Cheese, which was good, but surprisingly not creamy at all. It had a nice flavor and had a crispy layer of cheese on top, but we found it dry. However, sides of brown gravy and red gravy are often paired with this dish and we skipped those, so this could be why we found it dry and we weren't "wow'd." We also had a mountsin of onion rings, gumbo, veal parmaesan, meatballs and lasagna. The desserts were good too, but you could tell they had been frozen (or that their fridge is kept VERY cold.) Again, it was all okay, but we probably won't be going back, despite it's very close location to our home and enormous portions. I would recommend this place to a family who is looking for a LOT of food on a budget. One large lasagna is like half a 9x13 pan. It was oozing out of the to go box, so was the mac n cheese and the onion rings! The restaurant itself seemed really clean and the employees were attentive. There is more parking out back, so try that if nothing is available out front!

I can't say enough good things about Rocky's. It's the first thing I want to eat as soon as I'm back in town, and it always feels like "home." My favorite plate has always been veal cutlet and mac and cheese (no gravy for me!). I haven't been home in 5 years or so, and I can say with 100% honesty that the food did not disappoint! It was as delicious as always! I said to my friend that I wish I had the bigger of the two plastic cups to bring home because mine are old. The person at the register heard me and added one without a word. Thank you for your kindness! ❤️ My only wish is that the old wooden claw machine made it through the hurricane. So many memories! Thank you for being a constant in our lives. It means a great deal!

The servings are quite large for everything so you won’t go home hungry. Some popular dishes include spaghetti and meatball, shrimp Poboys, veal cutlet and macaroni, stuffed artichokes, stuffed peppers, and eggplant casserole. Along with so many sides like cold slaw, potato salad, corn beef and cabbage, and gumbo. Vegetarian options consist of a few side items.
