Rockwood Motor Court - Featured Reviews (161)
My son knows how much I love road trip nostalgia and booked a room. It was perfect! From the authentic decor to the neon signs as we pulled in very late at night. But the best part is Phyllis, who truly “hosts” her guests just like the old days! She remembered even the little details my son had shared with her about plans for our trip and truly cared about our comfort and safety along the way. The place was also impeccably clean and comfortable. I highly recommend a stay here for kicks (and good rest) on 66!
All of the reviews you read about this divine, restored Route 66 motor court is correct! My husband, grown son, and I stayed in the cottage with a queen bed & two twins & it was perfectly roomy, decorated so cute, with extra special touches like granola bars & coffee or tea for breakfast provided in the cottage. Phyllis, the owner, was delightful, telling my son & me all about the original motor court & the renovations they did. She was awesome! We said the best part of our Route 66 trip (Kansas to Chicago leg) was meeting the people along the way! We highly recommend a stop at this wonderful restored motor court! I already want to go back!
We usually stay at big chains when we travel. However, my husband and I were planning an overnight get away and when we searched for Springfield hotels, the Rockwood was by far the highest rated hotel! Over and over other reviewers mentioned Phyllis, the owner, and how incredible she was as a hostess. My husband and I looked at each other and said, “Ok, we’ve got to meet Phyllis and see this place for ourselves!” ||The reviews were 100 percent true! Phyllis is a gracious, personable hostess who treats those staying at the Rockwood like guests and friends, not customers. We enjoyed chatting with her and her husband, Tim in the evening. How many places have you chatted with an owner lately?||The rooms themselves are all renovated and restored, each with a different theme. Our room was themed films from the 1940s-1950s and it was absolutely lovely! Perfect for a couple’s get-a-way! The pictures online don’t do the rooms or the property justice. Everything is immaculate, clean, and well-cares for. ||I would not only recommend this property without hesitation, I plan to stay again!
I stayed one night at Rockwood Court Motel. Phyllis and Tim are wonderful hosts. Phyllis specially was very kind and even recommend sites I could visit nearby that would appeal to my photographic side. The rooms very cozy and the decor is really cute. I would definitely stay here again if I'm in Springfield.
First off, this is not just a normal hotel. It is an experience! The owners are so friendly and are amazing hosts, They make sure the stay is pleasant and that you have everything you need. We stayed in their largest room (Fill er up), and it was more than enough space for our family of 5. It's centrally located in Springfield, and the rooms have a ton of historical pieces to bring you back in time! I would highly recommend it.
We stayed here as part of our Route 66 trip. Our room was The Classic. Not big, but cute and comfortable.|The day we arrived there was a threat of a Tornado. Phylis, the owner advised us that there may be a siren alert, which there was. She also told us that if it was required she would wake us and take us to the main house basement.|Fortunately this wasn’t required.|The motel is super cool and the owners were extremely friendly. |Would definitely recommend a stop here, especially if you are doing Route 66.
If you miss this hidden gem, you've missed Missouri rt 66. Its small, private, safe and yet, it is rt66. Go straight east a couple of miles and the treasure of Springfield's old Town district, eats, drinks, night life. Go straight west to continue the rt66 journey to the gay parita and on. Its a promise, you'll love it and find out that area is the crown jewel of Missouri rt66.
What a gem! Phyllis and Tim are perfect hosts! We were in #2, and although it was small, it had what we needed for our overnight stay! Very clean and neat. Room comes with a small coffee pot and snacks. Great decor of old cars! Would stay again!
The best Brazilian jiu jitsu gym I've been to! The instructors are top-notch, and the atmosphere is super friendly and welcoming. If you've been considering trying martial arts, whether you're young or old, male or female, this place is for you!
