Rock Island Inn & Suites Marshalltown - Hotel in Marshalltown - 3303 S Center St, USA

I read a lot of reviews before I booked here. So with that being said... The rooms were nice I had a 2 queen double bed. Everything was clean and everything worked. I didn't spend much time in my room because of going to the races. The front desk check in was fast, and the guy was very nice. The only thing I didn't like was when leaving out the side doors they didn't seem to close very fast. Other than that my stay was good.

Left the room on Sunday morning after two days stay. 6-28-30. Checked my banking I noticed another charge of 95.20. I sent a email requesting an investigation. No response in eight days. Today I called and clerk said I left something in the room so I was charged another night. Which is false. Then the clerk said that housekeeping told her that I told housekeeping I was going to stay another night. Which is false. When Best Western owned it I had no problem Beware everyone Rock island inn and suites in Marshalltown Iowa gets a worthless rating

First time staying at this hotel as we stayed for 5 days. Room was clean and appeared newly renovated. We went down for the breakfast each day at different times because most of the hot covered dishes were empty when we went down. Never seen a employee working the breakfast bar area at all. During our stay a guests dogs got out of their room. The front desk lady and other staff were unable to coral the dogs so my wife and I took control of the situation and put the dogs back in their room. The front desk lady was very nice and thankful and said she would give us a discount which never happened. Some of the staff were very friendly others appeared to be pissed off at the world when spoken to and grumpy. All in all it was just an OK stay.

Tried to book a room for a wedding weekend months in advance. Spoke to someone that sounded like they didn’t have any teeth. I provided card information, phone number, and an email address for confirmation purposes. The room apparently was never booked, as I did not receive any communication and was not charged. I called days later and complained that I never received confirmation and that I would be staying elsewhere anyways. Then they charged my card for the stay we never booked and never checked in for. I called and spoke to someone that said “maybe their manager would call back later” never received a call back. I would stay clear of this dumpster fire.

Positive: "" Negative: Beds were hard and uncomfortable. Room was falling apart literally. Refrigerator door fell off and looked like it was already just put back on. Staff were hard to find and fitness center needs maintenance it hasn't seen in years. Not worth the star rating

The gentleman who checked us in was courteous and even provided a little "welcome bag" with waters and granola bars. The room was in good condition. The bathroom was nicely updated and had nice tolitries. There were lots of little touches like how the washcloth was folded decoratively. There are several little touches that you would expect only in "upscale" hotels. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was excellent with many choices. For me on of the best features is they had a great desk with a nice desk chair and lots of light. I travel a lot and work on the road so this was very important. Keep up the great work and thank you!

The stay was lovely, loved the breakfast. The place Was clean . Staff was helpful
