Roche-A-Cri State Park - State park in Friendship - 1767 WI-13 Trunk, USA

303 steps to the top! Such an awesome view! Truly incredible! I wouldn't do this on a rainy day due to traction. Many other trails in the park too apart from the top view. Well kept park. I also enjoyed that it's a single lane loop with all traffic going one direction. Makes choosing your hike much easier because you can predict high traffic areas easier.

I really enjoyed this state park as there was a lot of different things it offers- even in the early spring. There's hiking through pines, oaks and prairies. There's a beautiful creek running through the south side of the park. There was plenty of wildlife. Camping and picnic standards. But the highlight is 300+ step stairway up the side of the hill that rewards with breathtaking vista views. The stairs are modern and well maintained. Plus there is fencing and railing the entire way. But don't worry, there's also a few benches to stop and rest at and catch your breath. A side note: the main gate entrance was NOT open as of April 8th, 2023. There was 'winter parking' around the corner to the south. About 1/2 mile from the main entrance.

This is such a great park. And such a unique one at that. Well worth the visit, and seeing all the carvings on the rock wall is just so awesome. The walk up to the top is fun, 303 steps if I remember correctly. There are spots to sit and catch your breath if needed along the way. The observation deck is just on one side of the bluff and a little small. If it's a busy day you might end up having to squeeze together or wait for someone to leave. The view is breathtaking all the same.

Great hike .We made it to the top. Plenty of restrooms (composting toilets).views were amazing.Saw people walking their dogs . we hiked forest,along water,and prairie, nice variety.There were play grounds and picnic areas provided. It was a well looked after park.

Great park for a quick trip or a long hike. My 3 year old was able to conquer the stairs to the 300 ft peak in about 30 min (up and back). Also good for driving in and seeing cool rock faces for any ability level. State park passes are required. Bathrooms are available around the drive path. Campsites we’re also available.

Beautiful park for hiking. Groomed trails and a gorgeous spring with cold water for a hot day. Bathrooms are right at the entrance. Garbage dump right at the entrance as well. Amazing signage for trails for those of us who are direction challenged. We did not go very far on the trail this first time as we did not have time. If you are in the Adams-Friendship area it is totally worth the stop. Dogs allowed on a leash at the trails but not allowed in the Childrens area at the main entrance of the park.

Make this stop Emery chance I get. It is a phenomenal park and a great escape. Hiking and nature for all interest and abilities. Enjoy!

Pay attention to the stones on the way up the stairs. You will see a owl around the middle of the stair climb. Then almost up to top you will see a big rock standing up. Look at it you will see some faces. Take about 20 steps back and it looks like a raccoon. There is other half carved stones around there for sure.
