We didn't do any hiking but it was a Beautiful drive. Plan to take some time on the drive. Use a restroom before going as there aren't many any at the pull off areas. Drive was perfect for people who can't hike. There are wonderful pulloff stops to view and get out. Also, there are trail heads at the stops for hikers. Next time we go we may plan a picnic.

We ride this trail every year. The splendor of nature is amazing! If you’re paying close attention, you will notice that water can flow upstream in these mountains. 🏔️ Tons of historical items/cabins.

This is a 1 way scenic drive through the Great Smokey Mountains. I was blessed with "smoke" upon the mountain top... 🙌 saw an owl and loved the scenery. Very close to park vista hotel. I think we were about 2700 feet up. Go slow and soak it all in!

Beautiful trail with lots of history. Plan to be there early and know you will not be able to park at each stop. Be ready to hike and explore. The cabins are beautiful.

Nice paved loop road. It's not meant to speed through so don't expect to do that. Plenty of pull off areas for scenic views or hiking trails. If you want to stop at the more popular stops, go early in the morning. They're usually packed by mid to late afternoon and parking may be full.

A very beautiful drive through old growth forests along a rushing mountain stream. There are multiple parking areas to pull off and just enjoy the scenery. There are also many hiking trails along this path. Waterfalls await if you have the gumption to take the 1.4 mile trail up to grotto falls.

Driving the loop is a great experience. You can pull off in multiple locations and choose what sites and hikes you want to do. There are plenty of long hikes you need to be prepared for if you want to see everything. The good thing is you can skip the difficult hikes and just hop out when you want and see the sites along the route or only venture as far as your comfortable.

I had a wonderful experience at The Sinks in Great Smoky Mountains NP! The 15 ft scenic cascading waterfall is stunning. It is named "The Sinks" for the large whirlpool at its base. It can be seen from the road and comfortably viewed from a vehicle.
