Roami at The Current - Hotel in North Bay Village - 7939 East Dr, USA

Stayed with friends for a few days. The location is great and the view is amazing. The sound system didn’t work and we were told it was disconnected bc they don’t want to disturb the neighbors. Overall we enjoyed the place but it needs a little attention to detail when it comes to cleaning, found a lot of hair throughout the house and the glass around the rail upstairs. Couch is uncomfortable and the furniture seems cheap overall, doesn’t match the place

I am very disappointed with the apartment. It’s full of dust and unclean. I couldnt sleep at night sneezing. We are missing cushions for the balcony, we cannot seat down. the toaster burns. same with the pans they are disgusting and burnt. the “gym” is absolutely a joke. DISGUSTING, no air conditioning, it smells like death. It’s so unsanitary the Sanitation Department wouldn’t approve for use. Gym looks NOTHING like the photo’s advertised.

The unit seemed generally rundown and neglected, as well as haphazardly turned between bookings: Bedsheets not changed from previous guests; obvious dirt on ledges, sills, and baseboards; mildew in the showers; peeling paint; severely damaged floors; stained pillows; tattered, dented, and otherwise badly worn furniture. Some electrical outlets were protruding from the wall and the floor. The elevators malfunctioned multiple times during our stay. At one point, after being told by Roami that the issue had been resolved (note, at no point was an “out of order” signed posted), one of the elevators opened partially stuck between floors. This seemed unsafe, so my elderly father and I instead took several flights of stairs — which were filthy and had actual trash obstructing the the way. The property has been hastily rebranded from Sextant Stays to “Roami”, with various details overlooked or left unfinished. Conflicting information was given about parking (assigned vs FCFS); wifi network name and password; and check-out procedures. It seems minimal effort and cost is going into running and maintaining this property. To Roami’s credit, its management was friendly and responded promptly to the issues of dirty bedsheets and broken elevators. In the end, they issued a $100 refund of the total booking cost — though a paltry courtesy for a company reporting ~$40 million per year in revenue.

Our apartment at Romai at The Current more than exceeded our expectations! The apartment was quiet, clean, and well equipped. We were missing a pan in the kitchen and the person responsible quickly brought it in. Common Swimming pool was empty and heated! Kids loved it!

My friends and I had a fantastic experience. The spot itself was extremely nice, had every amenity we wanted, and was in a great location. The customer service was incredible and got me everything I needed at a moments notice. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking to have a great, stress free time. I will absolutely be staying here again!

This is a beautiful place, with gorgeous views it was just like the pictures. When I needed help with something there staff responded very fast I will be visiting again.

The location was perfect , the view incredible. However, the decorator who was decorating the air bnb at the time of us arriving there let us in . The smell of paint for someone with asthma was so strong that we had to stay out of the kitchen /lounge area because the paint fumes were so strong . The lock on the bedroom door was also being fixed when we got there . The room by the main door was like sleeping in a permanent day light room as the window had a white curtain to cover the fire escape light situated directly outside ,constantly blaring in the room all night . With the lights off in the room, it was still like daylight .The air con unit was so loud that we had to switch it off . All in all, ALOT of money, you are paying for the view, not the space .

We are currently staying at The Current by Sextant in North Bay Village Miami which we booked through @marriott @marriottbonvoy Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy. We are shocked at how bad the property is kept. Please see photos that I have posted. Dirty and things in bad condition. - floors were dirty. We went out and purchased our own Clorox Wipes to clean the floors and everything else ourselves. When I contacted the Property Management to send a Swifer so that we could clean, that what they did. What I expected them to do was to send a cleaning team in to thoroughly clean. - dishwasher was not well maintained and they came in to fix that. - last night, the ceiling in the bedroom started to leak. We had to move the bed and put a bucket underneath. You could see this was not the first leak as the stain in the ceiling was there for quite some time. I advised the Property Management team that our two daughters have asthma and mold can trigger it so they need to fix and repair the ceiling. We received a message after several prompts this evening that they fixed it but when we returned, they just poked a few holes in the stained ceiling. You can see in the images posted. Really shocking. As a Marriott Bonvoy member, it shocks me that they would recommend this property. We hope someone will reach out to resolve this issue justly soon.
