Best pizza I've had in Newark so far.
If you want to support local businesses then go no further than Riviera Pizza! Tonight was a great occasion my children each earned honors for their marking periods! So to celebrate we went to our favorite spot! It is a hidden gem for great eats! The large pizzas are very large and the flavors pack an amazing punch! Great wing specials!!! And great sizes too! No small wings! They are very gracious with sauce and sides! Not to mention, since I’m vegan, I had the Vegan Burger and let me tell you! It barely lasted a minute! In fact, the next time I order the Vegan Burger I’m ordering two!! The staff are friendly, the environment is clean and safe! If you want to save yourself some money and eat good! I was in the area and happened to stop by Riviera Pizza. Are used to go here for lunch when I was working at a nearby plant. But it’s been a very long time since I’ve stopped at the pizza shop. I got an a large town sub and a spaghetti dinner with meat sauce. Everything was very good the service was quite well and the gentleman behind the counter was very courteous.
The pizza here is the best we could find in this area. It is the closest to a delicious NY/NJ/CT pie we could find. The people who work here are also very, very, very nice.
The owner is the best!!! She knows her customers well and her customer service is excellent. The Rivera gang are on top of orders and polite .
I ordered a pizza and boneless buffalo wings. First, the crust was thinner than normal and it was burnt. You could tell they used less ingredients so it could get done quicker since they were getting ready to close in a half hour from when I ordered which was at 8:30 on a Friday although their website says they closed at 10pm. Theres a girl, (not the owner) who answers the phone and will surely put you in your place about how the store hours and menu items are not valid on their website “ because its an old website “ so don’t bother making any references to it because she clearly has no problem confronting customers on that. Getting back to the the pizza though, it was so burnt that it took a lot of force to pull it back after biting into it. They use such a faint amount of tomato sauce and cheese that you do not feel like your eating pizza. You barely can taste it because its barely on there. Its a hit or miss with this place anymore and its a shame because they have a lot of loyal customers. I do not appreciate buying a pizza and getting something that very closely resembles a cardboard UPS box with a faint amount of marinara sauce on it. Im going to give Amores Pizza a try the next time I want pizza because frankly, the pizza and telephone service here is starting to suck more times than not👎🏽
The pizza tastes pretty good. They kind of replicate a NY slice. Nice crust, but a little skimpy on the toppings. The calzones are a huge disappointment. They are mostly dough with barely any mozzarella and ricotta.

I tried dairy queens food for the 1st time. I had the bbq chicken tenders combo and it was sooooo good! The perfect amount of sauce!! Usually places skimp on the sauce but not here. The blizzard was just as good! Will definitely be back.
