I almost didn't rate this hotel because it's the best kept secret of Southport. Such a cute getaway for me and my husband. The private swings have the best view.
The Riverside Motel is so cozy with a swing out side each room to relax and watch the boats traveling down the Cape Fear River The location is great. Right near the water front park. You can walk to shops and restaurants. The rooms are nice and beds very comfy. We enjoyed staying during the July 4th weekend. Was a fun time to visit Southport. Also close to a ferry ride to Ft Fisher
Absolutely heaven! This little vintage riverside motel was so cute and we could not have asked for a more perfect location. Being right on the river and sitting on the porch swing was just the most relaxing time for us all. Southport is such a quaint coastal town and everyone that we met were absolutely charming. Walking distance to the riverside restaurants and boutiques were a plus. My happy place..
Have wanted to stay at this motel and we booked to celebrate our anniversary. Room was clean and we enjoyed the back porch. Staff were helpful and very nice. We were in room 2 and staff informed us about the restaurant beside us- was no problem for us. Really enjoyed!
Great view! Off season is a great time to visit. Noise from the restaurant was unfortunate, as was the all night lights

We have been coming here for years & it is always nice & clean & we love having a swing overlooking the river to swing on. But, it hasn’t been updated since 2002! if these owners would only invest a few thousand more dollars into this place to upgrade the mattresses, hang a larger TV on the wall ( with more channel choices), put in new flooring in bathroom & change tubs into stand up showers it would be a much nicer place than it is. A little sprucing up would make a world of difference to allot of travelers.
Always a great getaway... especially when the traffic dies down in the evening. But not on the water!!! Never disappointed. ....but I would advise anyone with allergies affected by perfume to be advised. They use strong fabric softener in bedding and towels. We had been able to handle it before this visit but it kept us from being able to breathe well and got no sleep. Unfortunately we lost a night's stay and the cost of it as well.

Wonderful bakery in Southport, NC. The donuts are amazing, but the Glazed croissants will knock your socks off! Highly recommended. They are closed on Sundays.

Walked in, and I was immediately greeted by the sweetest attendant! Had breakfast, and everything was cooked perfectly and delicious! Cook, who I think was the owner, was extremely nice and attentive!! Love the collectibles everywhere!!!
This is an excellent little spot to grab some delicious food and a drink. Itâs kind of a locals type spot and everyone is welcome. I had their famous cheeseburger and it is awesome. My wife loved the fish tacos. Great service.
