Hello! We recently stayed at the Badger cabin. I was very disappointed at the cleanliness and condition of the cabin. When we arrived there was no one available to check-in with. I’m assuming the owner put her mother in charge, she instructed me to go to the cabin, but didn’t know anything else. She told me to come back if it wasn’t clean and she would try to get in touch with her daughter. My first thought was, why wouldn’t it be clean if you were expecting guests to be arriving?! But, it wasn’t. When we got to the cabin there were dirty dishes in the sink and a pile of “cleaned” dishes drying on the counter. The bathroom had an empty roll of toilet paper on the toilet paper holder, with a used roll set on top of the empty one. Visible hair in the bathroom. There was so much visible dust on the ceiling and ceiling fan it was alarming. I could go on and on. The overall condition of the cabin was disgusting. They should be ashamed they’re charging people almost 200.00 per night to stay there. Had I been able to find somewhere else for my family to stay I would have left in a heart beat and demanded a refund. I’m almost certain the pictures posted on the Air BNB website are from another cabin. I don’t care if someone is paying 50.00 a night or 500.00 a night- you should be properly cleaning in between customers- ESPECIALLY with the recent pandemic. A little soap and water goes a long way.
We had the pleasure of staying in Cabin Bear. LOVED IT! What a perfect cozy place to unwind. It was surreal sitting on the covered porch as a thunderstorm rolled through at the end of the day. We were able to prepare our own meals in the fully stocked kitchen. The bed and the pillows kept us comfortably asleep throughout the night. This morning I was able to greet the day with a cup of coffee while taking in the views of autumn overlooking the river from the covered porch. There is no doubt that I'll purposely make a trip back to this gem!
The manager was really nice. It looked like an attempt was made to remodel. New flooring, drapes, painting. Nice start However, dirty towels in the bathroom, it's really noisy. The room never got redone. Garbage was not removed, beds not made. No extra toilet paper or Kleenex. No cups or coffee cups. The pictures online were not totally representative of this place. Sadly we will not be back.
What an amazing little gem this turned out to be!!! Trying to find a place last minute we booked here at 1/2 price and was 100x better than our last stay at Super 8 which I don't recommend anyone go to. But this place had 2 beds which Super 8 didn't it also had a backyard for your pets, a boat and canoe rental right on the Chain of Lakes and 2 piers so you could even rent a wet jet or boat. The rooms have all been updated with a Northwoods touch. They did an awesome job and I would recommend that to anyone, it's close to town and you aren't paying double just to sleep!!
I would never stay at the Riverdale again. It is filthy with old smelly carpets and lots of maintenance problems. There are some very scary electrical code violations including an overheating overloaded circuit for the air conditioner and everything else that ran off the only one plug available. The new owners/managers are not very customer service oriented. For $120 per night you will need to supply your own toilet paper, soap, and paper towels. They have a rodent problem, the screens are ripped and or not repaired after the animals come in every night.
It's the best cabin I've seen in Eagle River yet. Thank you, Heather, for an awesome stay in the Badger Cabin.
Worse place ever to stay!! Don’t stay here, septic problems big time, rodent problems,. Came and fridge wasn’t working right also no internet, need it to run the tv. We had a big party in our group and there is no one else staying here and it’s the weekend..clue. Also asked for more toilet paper only had one roll and they got mad. Told us to throw toilet paper in the garage..gross!! (E-coli ) to name a few. Also, the beds need to be replaced they are all caved in and must be like 20 years old. Will never stay here again.
Beautiful up North kinda place, renovations make it even better than last year, friendly people and beautiful River frontage, cottages are so clean. Boat rental was a plus too! Highly recommend a stay!
