Riverdale Inn - Bed & breakfast in Jacksonville - 1521 Riverside Ave, USA

Location is excellent, staff extremely helpful, room comfy, and breakfast perfect. Will be making this a regular stop between Jupiter and Charleston. The honor bar and library area were a plus. The hostess gave us a local map and a few recommendations that made the morning go smoothly. We will definately be back and are so happy our friend strongly suggested we stay at Riverdale Inn; you won't be disappointed!

I was really impressed with our stay at the Riverdale Inn over July 4. I always make a habit of staying in family-owned B&Bs over corporate hotels because of how much more personal it is. The room was super clean, and the bed and pillows were far more comfortable than any hotel I’ve stayed at. The location was stellar - within walking distance of the river and arts market, as well as several restaurants. The breakfast was also wonderful and although we didn’t partake, we really liked the option of the honor bar. We definitely plan on staying here again.

It’s magical really. I don’t know how else to describe it. This single family residence was built in 1895. It is only one of two (the other being right next door) in this area to survive the great fire of 1901. When you arrive and enter you feel like you are home. It is literally home away from home. It is a rather spacious 11 unit bed and breakfast. There is an honor bar that you can help yourself to if you so choose. They have a record player in there that you can play a supply of records on and just relax. I’ve never experienced anything like this before. The staff are simply amazing and very responsive. The breakfast is second to none. I had the western omelette and it was the best omelette I’ve ever eaten. I’m in my 50s and have had plenty of them and well, it was the best. I will absolutely be staying here again.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights and we loved it. We were in the guest house in the Lancaster suite. Our room was clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. We had breakfast every morning and the food was amazing. We hope to stay here again when we come to visit family. It is close to everything yet quiet and relaxing.

Honestly I just need a safe cozy home away from my home right around the corner so to speak. I regret not ever coming sooner. ||I have fangirled over the building since I moved to Jax in 2006 for college. I love a bed and breakfast. I love how all the cool style and "updates" are just happy little accidents. (RiverDale/Archie comic game) Because the new owners really have taken time and attention to create a place to feel safe and at home with your cuppa and records and books AND games and communion. Also the art on the walls. There's something for everyone's taste here. If they're cool 😎 ||It's so safe inside, everything you want (besides the breakfast) can be self served and done by the honor system if it's drinks or snacks. What a gem! This lovely historic home is conveniently located steps from a peaceful park on the water. It is full of charm and special touches like board games, an honor bar, wide porch with rocking chairs, a lending library etc. each room is decorated individually and the bed and linens felt luxurious. Modern super clean shower and high quality soaps etc We chose this for its proximity to Be Still Float spa ( you can walk there) and it was so relaxing to check into after our spa treatment

We had a wonderful time on our recent stay at The Riverdale Inn. Our room, The Windsor Suite, was very private with a beautiful bathroom with double sinks, huge shower and nice soaking tub. The bed was very comfortable. Having a refrigerator was nice also. The made to order breakfast each morning was great. And the location is within walking distance to lots of nice restaurants. We will definitely stay again on our next visit!

Across the board, staying at Riverdale Inn is a pleasant experience. From the minute we arrived, I was astounded by the exceptional hospitality & thoughtful accommodations. Margaret’s Window room, though a smaller space, was perfectly clean & comfortable. After an easy walk exploring the fun area around the inn, we enjoyed luxuries like blasting the in-room air conditioning and snuggling up in a bed that felt like a dream. Their breakfast service left nothing to be desired in the way of hospitality either, and every morning the meal itself was surprisingly nice. The only constructive suggestions I can make are minor: the smell of the room cleaning sprays can be a bit overwhelming until it dissipates, and the in-room mini bar was briefly tempting (not great for a sober person!). Perhaps allow guests the option when booking whether they want to have the mini-bar stocked or not? Regardless, both of these notes did not detract from our surprisingly sweet stay! If you’re thinking about booking a room, don’t hesitate - these folks are very skilled at giving their guests a best-in-class bed & breakfast experience!
