Stayed here for a birthday weekend with my family. The lady at the front desk was incredibly kind and even recommended some restaurants in town and told us places to avoid with the kid. The rooms were dated, but overall pretty clean and definitely well appointed. The location was excellent RIGHT on the end of the boardwalk area with gorgeous views just outside our room. Definitely a budget option, but the breakfast was nice, the rooms were clean and the service was second to none.
At check in, I was greeted with a friendly smile. Asked for a certain spot at the hotel and was given it. Later I wasn't feeling well (from the heat) so we stayed in and watched tv. At that time a man opened our locked door with his key. I don't know why he tried to come in an occupied room. He said sorry and left. The next day , that same man was sitting behind the desk in the office. He left and another man sat down. I told him about what happened and he said he would check the cameras. That was it. I wasn't told why it happened. So make sure your door is lock twice. There wasn't a do not disturb sign to hang on the door, so the cleaner came in while we were out. The pool was foggy but warm and we almost had it to ourselves.|It still was a pleasant stay. The new owners took up the rug and that was a blessing.
For those reviews saying they are clean, false! The floors were dirty, I pulled the sheets back and there were brown stains on them! We left to go to the walk on the beach, came back our floors were wet. Never had I experience floors sweating. Bathroom was nasty and low lighting, the kids were scared to use it. Service, let’s just say our family consists of 2 adults and 4 children. Was able to give 2 sets of towels one night and the next was told we would have to come back later to see if any were available. To have to go and get your own cleaning supplies and sheets for a hotel room is insane! The only thing they have going for them is the location. The new owners need to take the money made at Fourth of July and put it towards supplies and upgrades, like they were suppose to do in December!!
Wonderful value for a weekend getaway. Great location being right on the beach. Hotel was as expected. All the rooms are non-smoking but there are tables with ash trays right next to the doors. It would be really nice if they made it a non-smoking property. Breakfast was typical.
Positive: Location Negative: Bed bug residue. Previous guest?s items found in room. Lamp held together with duct tape. Stained and broken lamp shades. Not well cleaned. I kept all of my belongings in the sink- yes. It was that bad. Breakfast was dissapointing.
Front staff was rude, the guy promised a room on phone almost 2 months in advance got there he changed it. Nice view of the parking lot! Been coming here almost 30 years. This was the worse stay. Pool wasn't ready to use, there was no smoke alarm in room, look like someone had pulled half of it off the ceiling. They served same breakfast all week. Sure miss the old owners... Kept asking us if we had pets , no we didn't.. they just stare at you. The only nice person there was the cleaning lady!!
Pretty run down motel. Nice staff, clean. The smell of cleaning solvent was overwhelming, AC sounded like a jet engine whine. Bed was ok. No ice maker in the hotel, had to get bags of ice from the front desk. Furniture was really banged up, just looked like they didn’t update anything in years. Wouldn’t recommend this place.
It's an older inn that is ready for a remodel. The rooms were adequate. The free breakfast was pretty lame. It is right on the Potomac River. The beach there is made up mostly of pebbles. But we did find some nice driftwood along there. There are lots of nice restaurants to go to in the area. It's a quiet area which we liked. Although all the smoking areas were outside, they were near all the doors so it still smelled smokey inside.
Our second visit here, and it was very pleasant. A beautiful fall day with no crowds. We met up with Andrew the property manager and had a really nice chat. It's great to see someone with so much enthusiasm for their job! The house was getting some
