River Camp Eats - Southern restaurant (US) in White Oak - 106 US-80, USA

First time coming here and can't say we would be back. Prices were higher than expected. Food was decent but not at the price point offered. Meat pies are okay. Gumbo didn't have much sausage in it at all. The fried fish is crisp but it isn't seasoned much... if you want fried fish... there are better places just down the road (New Pier for example). The blacked chicken was good but if you're sensitive to salt...I'd avoid it. The mashed potatoes are made from real taters with the skins on BUT if you get it with gravy...it comes swimming in the gravy...so much so, you almost feel like you're eating soup. While we were seated an 8 top came in and they moved some tables together to accommodate that but my goodness it blocked one side of our table in. There was less than 12inches between the back of their chairs and our table. The four top table behind us couldn't even be used because the path to it was inaccessible. They definitely need to think about the logistics when combing tables to ensure the tables seated around have room to get up and leave. When we left, we literally had to turn our table sideways in order to leave due to the group table being so close.

We enjoyed ourselves today. Employees were attentive and the manager came out to speak with us. Nothing was over cooked and tasted great. The cocktail sauce is on point!!!!

I recently dined at River Camp Eats and I was blown away by the fantastic experience. The food was simply incredible, with amazing flavors that left me wanting more. Great place to stop for a variety of country cooking. Freshly made food. Country music playing and the spacious seating made a pleasant dining atmosphere to complement the meal. Victoria, our waitress, was nice, friendly, and very attentive. I’ll be back for the lunch specials during the week!

This was our first visit since River Camp Eats opened in White Oak, Tx. Jayden was our server and he did great. He was prompt getting to us. Our food was delivered hot and delicious!! The owner/manager even stopped by to make sure everything was great!

A fun place. Menu has a different selection from most. Cheaper too. Excellent service thank you Charlie S.

11/30/23 We came in right before closing and was greeted immediately. Dwane was our server and went above and beyond to insure that we had everything we needed and more. The food was amazing too!! We felt no rush to leave and the manager, Savanna did a great job insuring that our experience was the best. It was our first time coming and will most definitely be back!!! 5/5 stars!!!

I was excited because I have heard good things about the food at this place. I ordered the chicken fried steak with fried okra and Mac n cheese. The meat was less than 1/8" thick and WAY over cooked. I think my steel toe boots would have been easier to eat. The cheese was like water, and wouldn't stick to the huge elbow noodles. I think McDonald's has better quality...
