Love their bakery - their seasonal fruit danish is to die for. Every time I go to Carmel, I eat at the Rise and Roam. Great place to stop for a snack and coffee on any day!

Roasted turkey, bacon and pesto sandwich was great! Its huge so I shared it with my friend. Lots of seating inside with a bathroom and water. Would come back.

Pretty poor honestly. Margherita Pizza was cheese pizza with a piece of basil on top. Caesar salad at $18 was dry with no dressing. Would not recommend, much better choices.

Favorite bakery/cafe in Carmel! Everything we tried here has not disappointed. From the savory pizzas to their pastries and cookies. Must try: financiers and double chocolate cookie, but you can’t go wrong with anything else. Their coffee is also delicious (not too acidic which is what I prefer) Also, their space is really modern and clean with high ceilings and outdoor seats as well. We came here three days in a row. Last but not least, the people there are super pleasant and helpful. Love this place!

I visited 12/17 and 12/18/2023. I ordered the almond croissant for my wife and I had the gluten free carrot muffin. They were both excellent! Definitely my new go-to for pastries when visiting Carmel.

Ok, let my first say I love the food at this place - some magic going on in the kitchen and bakery. But, the customer facing ordering and service system seriously need to be overhauled. It’s extremely inefficient to have so many different people at the counter doing so many different things . Especially at such a busy and popular place. Ringing up, and heating up food and sometimes delivering it. Having different counter people on the register slows things down and often messes up orders. Please go look how Alta does it! (Coffee and pastry vs prepared foods). They also have long lines, but people know they will move quickly. I’ve seen folks coming to R&R and leaving when there was a much shorter line - because they know it will take forever. The dining room smells strongly of cleaning fluid - it should be sprayed on the cleaning towel not into the air and directly on the tables; the utensils need to be much closer to the front vs in the way to the bathroom where the dirty dishes are also deposited. Anyway. Often wondered if free advice based on industry experience will be taken. Let’s see.

high hopes for this place.. we visited last week for dinner. the atmosphere was dark, minimalistic and had a cold vibe. the menu seemed pretty limited. I ordered the green salad with chicken. it was literally just a pile of spinach, a very small amt of thinly sliced green apple and some boiled chicken.. no flavor to the chicken whatsoever. my sister's pork meal was just okay too. service was sporadic.

Had a Hazelnut cookie and latte, both were excellent. Seems like the more I visit the more I like it. There's even some discounts on some items in mid afternoon. Excellent double chocolate croissant and apple cider roll, baguette 🥖 had burnt crust, only ate some of it.
