First time customer. Fast efficient service. Chimi plate and fish tacos, both were just the best. Reasonable prices. Atmosphere.....well, it's in a strip mall. Go for the food. Super busy take out spot. Amongst the best in town.
Great Mexican Food!
We visited on a Thursday evening at about 6:00 pm. This restaurant is located in a strip mall and faces S. Nogales Hwy near the Walmart. A little tricky to find the first time, but once you go you'll have no difficulty finding it on your next visits which you will do. As you enter the front door you see the counter where you order food, either for take-out or dine-in. Over the counter is a menu board with a huge selection. Note: the picture of this menu board on the internet is a little old and prices are a little higher. To the left is a soda dispenser and a help yourself salsa bar with Pico de Gallo, a green salsa - tasty, not spicy hot, a red salsa that I found to be a little spicier than I enjoy and a bowl of lime wedges. Small containers with lids are at the bar for your convenience. Dining tables are to the right. This is a very busy place at dinner time with some dine-in eaters and a heavy take-out business. We stepped to the side to study the menu board as regulars went right to the counter and ordered their meals. My wife ordered one chicken taco and two carne asada tacos. Just tacos, no beans or other sides. I ordered the Super Nachos and asked for the chips to be in a separate container instead of under all the toppings. Orders are filled very quickly, five minutes or less. The person at the counter calls out the order and you go to the counter and get it. All orders are served in foam take-out containers. Take-outs are in a plastic grocery sack, dine-in is on a tray. Plasticware and napkins are at the counter. These tacos are legit! The chicken taco had a plentiful amount of lightly seasoned juicy chicken with tomatoes, lettuce and cheese in a crispy fried corn tortilla. The carne asada tacos were in soft corn tortillas loaded with a super flavorful cubed beef, topped with Pico de Gallo and guacamole. These are large, full size tacos and we brought one home. Now for the Super Nachos. One typical large container was filled with fresh fried tortilla chips. The other large container was a Mexican buffet! Sour cream, Pico de Gallo, refried beans, guacamole, lettuce, cheese and a large portion of their tasty carne asada. I really enjoyed loading chips with a variety of the toppings and mixing up the flavors. I brought home enough for another days lunch. As we sat close to the counter, we heard numerous orders for carne asada fries which I think are the same toppings as the nachos, but over fries. I think I need to get these next time. Based on the volume of business they did on a Thursday night, I would say that indeed, this is THE Mexican food place in Green Valley. Don't go for the atmosphere, go and enjoy the food.
Update 3-20-23
The Carne Asada Fries ($12.90) have been on my mind since my last visit and I had to try them. My wife ordered two of her favorite Carne Asada Tacos. Once again, orders are ready for pickup at the counter within minutes. Piping hot with fresh toppings. These Carne Asada Fries are it! Loads, and I mean loads of carne asada, sour cream and guacamole atop a bed of fresh fried fries, topped with melted shredded cheese. I had enough left over for another lunch. Go there and enjoy!
I've been going to this restaurant for about 6 years now and when I first started coming it was extremely good but over the years I've noticed the quality going down more and more. Now when I go it's a hit or miss, sometimes the food is bland with no flavor and other times it's very flavorful. The larger woman who works the cash register sometimes can be very rude and once rolled her eyes at me like it was my fault when I brought up to her a mistake she made on my order. So now I actually get upset when I see that she's working whenever I go in.
So glad that we came to this location. Our First time here. You go to the counter and order your meal which is displayed on a large advertising board with photos. I chose the chimichanga. It was probably one of the best chimichangas that I've ever had and you will see this in my photos that I have included. The price was probably about average but the size of your meal was enough to fill you up and possibly take extra home. My son had the beef tacos and they're very tasty. Customer service was fine. The place does have indoor dining right at this moment in addition to take out. Your meals are served in styrofoam containers and plasticware is used. They have fountain drinks in addition to bottled beverages. Overall we would be glad to return as this was a very tasty meal.
If the younger cook is working just come back another day. I've had multiple undercooked items from him, especially when it comes to rolled tacos. Rolled tacos recently were soggy and limp, and cold inside, I got a shot glass worth of guacamole with it at most. It's quite obvious if your taking something out of the fryer and it's limp, and lightly colored, that it's probably not fully cooked.... the rest of the staff are always wonderful, 9 times out of 10 here the food is excellent!
But I've had it with their younger cook, he just doesn't care, and it shows in what he makes you.
Southern California Mexican food in Green Valley, AZ. Hell yes! Rigoberto's is legit. I qualify this statement as I am native Southern Calfornian from San Diego. Our Friday night order included: Adobada Burrito, Rolled Tacos, Chicken Tostada, Shredded Beef Taco and a Bean with onion and cheese Burrito. We also raided their salsa bar and took home several small containers of their red and green sauce. The food is pretty damn good and the style met our taste profile. Better yet, the prices are at least 20% cheaper than Southern California Taco Shops. My review would not be complete if I did not address the customer service. The young lady at the front counter was very friendly and extremely helpful. The people cooking had the order completed and ready to take home in just a few minutes. My standards for Mexican food are exceptionally high. Rigoberto's easily satisfied those expectations. This small community is very fortunate to have this restaurant to meet their cravings for legit Mexican Food.
The portions are pretty good for the prices, the super nachos have a COMPLETE layer of carne asada (not just a sprinkle on top) and the people are super friendly
I love their Mexican food. They have the best tortillas Anything I order there I know will be great. It is my very favorite Mexican food restaurant. We have only ordered our food to go. But I would eat it anytime.

Absolutely the best tacos in all of southern Arizona! My usual favorite is the Barbacoa taco, and let me tell you, the shredded beef is so flavorful and juicy that they generously wrap it in two tortillas for you. But it doesnât stop there. The al
Went to try out the breakfast menu. Started off with a Orange Strawberry Mimosa. Deliciousness. Menudo is also delicious you could eat it with or without fixings. Toasted bread was phenomenal. Also had the French Toast. Never had a fluffy French Toas
The best hidden gem! The gardeners have real pride and it shows! Nice shaded walking paths, lots of seating and relaxing areas. Water fountain for people and dogs. They actually sell plants and soil. Phenomenal place, maybe my current favorite place
A small venue. Where every seat is great. There is something for everyone, the offerings are vast and excellent. An inexpensive night out without having to drive to the city
First of all, best latte ever! It's abundantly clear why their coffee has won awards. The food was good but my favorite part of this restaurant was the atmosphere. Moqah is family owned and run with the most friendly and attentive owner I've ever had
A wonderfully historic place preserved by a forward thinking Pima county. Old buildings have been restored to their former glory with a few insides being accessible. Highly recommend taking one of the guided tours. The ranch has a long and interestin
We needed a banquet hall to have a celebration of life reception for after my brother's services. I called and spoke with Tom. He was able to accommodate us in such short notice and went above and beyond. His kind demeanor and willingness to help mad
My first experience with this place was 5 star! The face to face order taker was very pleasant and helpful. The girl at the drive-thru window was easy going and made me feel like a valued customer. Kudos to the management for training their employees
Attended a very interesting presentation about the wild life here in Southern Arizona. Nice facility. Friendly folks. Got to talk to a Master Gardener too.
