It's not much to look at, but the food and service make you forget that. Best cheeseburger and fries I've had in years!

This was my first time visiting Richie's and my last. My granddaughter and I stopped in for breakfast. We placed our order, and I got my decaf coffee. When Allison, our waitress brought our silverware, they were not wrapped in a napkin. Rather, she just carried them in her bare hands after handling the wash towels that were lying on the counter. Not very sanitary! The silverware was not clean. The toast was yellow from whatever they used for butter. My hashbrowns tasted rancid and were sticky. My eggs were brownish from the burnt oil used for frying. Allison refilled my coffee without asking, and it wasn't decaf. She said sorry I forgot what you were drinking. There was a gentleman in the back pouring concenrate to make juice and did not wash his hands. He turned on the faucet in the sink behind the counter and filled the juice container with water. Then as he walked by with the juice container he wiped his hand on his jeans and then put the juice into the cooler behind the counter. The kicker is when I went to pay I was informed they only accept cash. I said I don't have cash on me and you really need a sign at the door informing customers about your cash only policy. They do have a sign all over that reads Please pay at cash register. It would have been nice if our waitress had informed us of the cash only policy. The cashier said you can go get cash and come back or use our ATM over there that they so conveniently have but don't have a sign informing you they only accept cash! I don't use an ATM because my bank charges if I don't use their ATM. So now I'm charged $5 for my bank and $1 for Richie's that could have been the tip! I mentioned to Allison that they should have a sign and she was just rude.

Food is excellent and the service is the best I've seen in a long time. No disappointment here. We'll be back. Can't say enough good about the cook's and staff. Kinda sucks that you have to pay cash, but still well worth it.

This is a slice of Americana. A quaint, historical looking diner in small town America. The food is average greasy spoon, which is exactly what I wanted and expected. The staff, however, ruined the experience. Without so much as a "hello" they told me and my 3 yo daughter to sit anywhere. Half of the tables still had dirty dishes on them, which hurt the allure of the atmosphere. She gave us one menu, and said it was the last one. We passed a large stack of menus when we came in. A terse, "what do you want?" Informed me it was time to order. After she dropped off the food, she was never seen at our table again. Yet, she had no problem visiting the nearby tables multiple times to chat, laugh, and talk to them by name. When I paid her with cash (they don't accept cards or checks) she shoved the change in my hand. I said, "thank you, have a great day." Her reply was a cold glare at me as she walked away without a word. This was my experience on 8-18-2023. Clearly, if you're not a well known local, you're not wanted here.

We love Richies, the employees are always friendly, no matter how busy, we have never had a bad experience..... and that's in 9 years of eating there, is it the healthiest?.....no, is it greasy?..... yes when you order fried food.... but is it yummy! YES! Will we go back? ABSOLUTELY! Thank you for always making us feel welcome!!!

I have gone here frequently. Food is usually good. This time it was mediocre. There is a spider web in the upper corner by the front window with multiple egg sacks. Been there awhile. The floor was filthy. Multiple tables with dirty dishes while staff stood around talking. Won’t recommend or go here again. 8-26-23

The staff is friendly, the food is great, and the prices are reasonable. My wife and I tried Richie's for the first time almost 2 months ago, and we have been back in almost every weekend since. You wont get this kind of greasy goodness at a chain restaurant.

I’ve always loved coming here when I visit my parents in Hastings. Simultaneously delicious and affordable food. Beeakfast always fantastic and I love the double cheeseburger. The servers are super sweet and attentive.
