Richards Restaurant - American restaurant in Columbia City - 252 Frontage Rd, USA

I came from out of town. New York to be exact and I split my time with Los Angeles. I’ve tasted food all over and dealt with people all over too. The staff was kind personable friendly and quick as well as attentive. 10/10 would recommend very good experience and affordable. I liked it so much I became a bit of a regular for the time I was there. Great people.

My department had a business lunch here, and it was nice. I ordered the chicken dinner, which had a special that day to include green beans and mashed potatoes. The green beans were pretty good, but the mashed potatoes were rather bland. I did like the chicken; it was not overdone, and the skin was light and crispy. My co-workers ordered the tenderloin, and the patty melt, and both thought their meals were pretty good. The server was mostly good; we did feel like we were forgotten for a while after we got our food and could use drink refills, but other than that, she did a good job. It was not overly noisy, and it was clean, so we were comfortable. It had the old diner look, which is okay, but nothing unique.

We always have a good experience at Richards. Also, you get your money's worth. Love the mashed potatoes and they make a good burger. I really miss their salad bar. They had the best cranberry salad. They should sell it as one of their sides. Great chicken but I go there for the liver. No kidding, I love it. The only restaurant I've found that knows how to cook it tender and juicy.

Great little diner off of 30. Been to the sister restaurant as well. Food and service are great! Had to have the s'mores cheesecake first and it was awesome!

Excellent wait staff, excellent food & soups. We had a very good experience at Richards in Columbia City and they had fast service. The burger was done just right & the waitress always made sure we had a full glass. The best apple dumpling I've had in a while & the ice cream is amazing as well. 5/5 stars!

All 3 of us ordered the 3 piece chicken special. We all ordered mashed potatoes, I also had a salad, Dad had green beans and Brenda has the bean salad. The dinner also came with rolls. The food was very good..especially the chicken. The service was ok but I know she did the best she could being as there was only 2 servers. This restaurant needs 3 servers at least, during the dinner rush. I've been here before and I am sure that I will be coming back when I visit Columbia City Indiana again.

Was so excited to find a Richard's as there r no longer any in the town I live in.....but oh it was so disappointing. Had the worst service ever. Was not busy at all but our order took almost 45 min, then we got only 1/2 our order and it was all cold, pretty sure it sat in window for quite some time. When sent back it was STILL cold and that and the rest of our order took another 20 mins...and we then got stuff we didn't even order,...but not the rest of our order. Very disappointed.

I’ve been here before a few years ago when I still lived in the area. We never had any issues. I forgot my lunch today and ran here on my break. This is tiny for $7 and I didn’t get bread. I’ve also gotten a salad here before when I sat down to eat and it was actually a full salad with bread
