Rice by Mama - Thai restaurant in Ventura - 419 E Main St, USA

First time trying this restaurant- amazing! Gluten Free options are plentiful and really tasty! I don't feel like flavor & spices were compromised to make it GF. I got the shrimp pineapple fried rice & vegetable soup. One of the best soups I've ever had! The shrimp was delicious as well, perfect texture & snap' When I went I also noticed that it was all women staff, I love that! Everyone was super friendly! Can't wait to go again, 100% recommend!

Good Asian food in Ventura. I would say the food is decent. Green curry and Tom yum soup was awesome. Personally, I am not a big fan of their crying tiger. (it’s a very popular dish here) I would recommend this store to everyone who wants Asian food in Ventura. But you don’t need to drive 2 hours from LA just for this.

We ordered the “Chicken Pad Thai” which I always get and the lady wanted to try the “Crying Tiger” with a side of sticky rice. The “Crying tiger” had so much steak(I was very happy)! Presentation was nice and the extra sauces made it enjoyable. The only thing I would recommend is that they adjust the sauce on the steak, go less heavier on the steak sauce, it was too salty! Prices are good and fair. Some of my favorite Thai places to eat have become very expensive. Check out Rice by Mama”s during their lunch specials, for great deals. Rice by mama is located in downtown Ventura, where you can enjoy some coffee or go shopping with the family. My mom loves this place. I really enjoy their food and they have lots of options. Unfortunately my daughter got sick last time we came, so she won’t return to eat here.

My husband and I love the food here. It’s so delicious and the price is more than affordable for what you get. The plates are packed with delicious food. My husband never walks out of there without being full 😬

Best Thai food I've ever tried. I love the yellow curry. Rice by Mama 1 is better than Rice by Mama 2 but both are still very delicious. The staff is very kind and attentative. I strongly recommend

This restaurant is GREAT!! The Food & Service is Superb!! When I saw the special of Crab Fried Rice I was curiously excited. This meal to me is a Blessing of a Treat also with the Fried Calamari, my Wife got the Pad Thai Chicken and Satay Chicken. The peanut sauce of the Satay is so decadent. Will definitely come back for that. Overall this visit was a nice one while staying at the Crown Plaza and roaming around Downtown Ventura. We are looking forward to returning here in the future. This is the best Thai food in Ventura County!! I've been to a few places around, and this one for sure tops the list!! They have excellent customer service, they are fast in bringing int he food and they also give you quite a lot of food. I strongly recommend their Pad see ew. You also get a nice view of Main Street depending on where you sit, and you can order takeout if you wish.

The food was really good! Came out hot and super tasty. I will definitely be back. I had the khao soi and a side of white rice and chicken gyoza. I could use less crunchy noodles on top of the khao soi next time as they got soggy quickly from the hot soup. I’ll ask for them on the side next time in order to preserve the meal better. But my gosh it was so flavorful. At times a “too attentive” server can sort of bomb the mood. No one asked to see if it was my first time so that a suggestion could be made to hurry along the order. Instead there were 4 different servers that came to ask me the same question multiple times in a short period of time. Other than that it was great. And for those who aren’t familiar with Asian cuisine, get to the restaurant 30mins before the places closes as they tend to start making last calls then. I saw a few people get turned away because they weren’t aware.
