The food was awesome here. Got the jambalaya. They had boudin balls which were amazing!!! Service was quick and friendly definitely will return here. The gumbo was seasoned very well. Get the cornbread instead of the roll.
We loved it. First time here, and in my opinion, everything was great! From service to food! I have been wanting to try their gumbo and I was not disappointed. Definitely worth coming back. Even if I gotta drive in from Austin, Texas.
Staff is very friendly. 1st time here and they were patient as we looked over menu. Food is excellent. We had sample plate of jambalaya, seafood gumbo, and boudin. Tucked away in storefront but definitely worth the stop.
I love their chicken and sausage jambalaya. It's my favorite dish there, but their other foods are just as good... thanks
Imagine if you will, getting a bowl of Lucky Charms cereal. Now, the marshmallows would represent the protein or meats and the cereal itself is the rice. I basically paid 18 bucks for a heaping bowl of soggy cereal with a sprinkle of marshmallows. This might be acceptable for Baton Rouge, but this is downright horrible jambalaya compared to what I get in New Orleans. Please, I beg of you, go to any well regarded restaurant in New Orleans to order some jambalaya and tell me that what you serve is comparable or even acceptable. You should strive for greatness and elevate your customers spirits with your food. Sadly, there is zero passion in the food served here. The folks at the McDonald's near this place greeted me with a smile when I placed my order inside. The guy who handled my order at Rice and Roux obviously wanted to be somewhere else not dealing with people. Oh well...
Definitely should’ve read the reviews before stopping by. The food was very BLAND! Red beans TERRIBLE! Only thing that was good was the fries and sprite. Oh and i like the roll a little bit. Definitely never coming back, And how dare they call their gumbo “GUMBO” !
Pizza bites would be great if allowed to cool off a bit before giving to little kids. They were very hot, I finished my meal before my kid could start theirs. Also, where’s the ZYDECO music?! 😢 we love it here still though!
My go to place for jambalaya. Always the best for good food. Great customer service. I will always make that extra trip to get my jambalaya! Keep up the great atmosphere, customer service, and good food.
You could always tell a good stop by who the regular customers are! We drove into Baton Rouge, and this was our lunch stop. Everyone was a working person coming in for a meal. That's all I need to know in my book. From a mechanic, law enforcement, to
Absolutely love Neighborhood Barre!! Jessie and her team are amazing! They are very welcoming and I love starting my day with all the great classes that they offer!
Brennan is one of the best! I always feel a lot better after our sessions. He has very good âbedside mannersâ, very caring and respectful. Heâs definitely an asset to the Stretch Lab.
