Rib Mountain Inn & Townhouses - Inn in Wausau - 227305 Boulder Ridge Cir, USA

We stayed here on our way to Mackinac Island and it was so much better than expected. Upon arrival it did smell old and dated in the entry way - it could use updating no doubt but what we liked was this great room with a full kitchen, wood burning fireplace, nice bathroom, couch, sliding door to a balcony and dining table all in one large room for $150 night. It was actually very cozy. There's a 16 person hot tub which was great. The place is surrounded by large forest-like trees so it felt very secluded. They serve a complimentary breakfast with that price too. It'd be a great place for a girls getaway weekend, a couples romantic get away, or if you're passing thru as a family. I would recommend this place.

Our stay at the Rib Mountain Inn was perfect. This small-town Inn offers a comforting peace which most desire when on a vacation. We stayed 4 nights and could have stayed another 4. The area offers great food and some beautiful sights and entertainment. Barbara was a delight. Her knowledge of the area is vast and she adamantly remembers your name and greets you with a smile and a story. Elizabeth was also an excellent helper at the Inn. She greeted me with a smile and aptly helped with any questions she could readily answer and she made phone calls to answer the questions she could not. Allison was friendly and personable. Great staff, overall! I would highly recommend this stay and I will be back.

This is a great, quiet, up north vibe place to stay in Rib Mountain! The service is fantastic, the rooms are a decent size, plus there's a hot tub and a sauna! Whether you enjoy skiing, hiking, biking, or kayaking, you are in the middle of it all with a short drive to any of those activities!! !

I was in town for business and decided to make it a small get away with my husband. We arrived at the property and at check in saw a note on the counter stating the hot tub was out of service. One thing we enjoy when traveling is the hot tub. The front desk agent, Priscilla, and Manager Barbara were very apologetic. Barbara showed us what the issues with the hot tub were. We completely understood. We got to the room and started to unpack and get ready to head out to dinner. We turned on the TV and there was no signal. Priscilla came up to the room and rebooted the box and tried several things to get the TV back working. The TV/Cable provider was out the day before upgrading some lines in the area, so all the TV's in all the rooms were not working. I booked through a third party (non-refundable). My husband went to the front desk and spoke with Barbara and she was so kind to allow us to cancel and get a refund through the third party. ||We moved to a different hotel in the area for this stay, but we will definitely be back to Rib Mountain Inn. The property is such a beautiful property that really reflects North Central Wisconsin. ||With all the issues that happened to be the perfect storm, Barbara and Priscilla maintained the highest level of customer service I have experienced. They could had said too bad, but they did not. Because of their dedication and professionalism, we will be back, and we will promote others to stay there. There is a phrase in the Customer Service industry "It is not our fault, but it is our problem". None of the issues we experienced were of the fault of the property, but they took it on themselves to remain positive, make it their problem and make us satisfied customers. We as consumers are so quick to complain, but never take the time to acknowledge great service. I encourage everyone to say thank you to those that provide and go above and beyond with great service and interactions. It is not always the transaction, but the interaction that wins. ||Thank you, Barbara and Thank you Priscilla!

Had a great weekend couples getaway. Location was quiet and peaceful. Room was spacious with a fireplace and kitchen. Building could use a slight bit of updating, but that didn't affect my experience. Staff was very sweet and we definitely will return for another weekend in the summer.

Positive: The Hotel did have a balcony that you could go out on but I did not use it. Negative: It was a lot older than what the pictures showed. About 60% of the caulking around the tub was moldy. Beds were quite old and uncomfortable. Really slow drain in the shower. I have no clue how this hotel had an rating of over an 8.

EVERYTHING was great! The staff was amazing, the rooms were clean and cozy, the sauna and large outdoor hot tub were a huge hit, and the breakfast area/lobby was big enough for our large group to enjoy a perfect weekend together! We will definitely be back any time we are in the area!

Very nice, cozy & quiet stay. Basic room was clean with balcony in a 18 room small building. I was passing through the town, and it was a last-minute stay. Lobby is on the lower level. Offered a sauna, hot tub, free breakfast & laundry service.
