Rhubarb House - American restaurant in Hagerstown - 12 Public Sq, USA

We arrived just before the place filled for lunch. Very quaint and cozy. Attentive servers. Delicious food, particularly the soups and desserts, served with real whipped cream.

The food is so very tasty and everyone who works here is super sweet! If you're a fan of dessert, they make all their sweets every morning so it's very fresh. I definitely recommend you give the Rhubarb House a try if you're in the area!

My first time here but not my last. Had a BLT made with local tomatoes and a pesto mayo. The owner came and checked on us to be sure everything was up to par and it was. Prompt and friendly service, yummy food, cool atmosphere. Highly recommend!!

Food is always good so there have been many return trips. For a nice casual laid back lunch this is a good option. Service is usually good but every once in a while slows down somewhat during busy times. Had the crab bisque this time which is frequently on the menu and it was superb. Also tried the seafood flatbread which is a new addition since my last visit and it was quite tasty and arranged beautifully.

Had lunch today at the rhubarb house. Look at their menu online the ordered for pickup. They have Dine-in available. Their hours are from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. they also offer curbside pickup if you prefer. We ordered a veggie melt sandwich, and the steak wrap sandwich. Both came with chips and a very nice fruit garnish a pineapple and strawberry. The young lady that took our order was very pleasant. And when we got there to pick up our order it was ready and waiting for us in a very nice cellophane bag with a red ribbon around it. The food was very tasty . I had the steak wrap sandwich and it was made with flank steak which is one of my favorites so I was very happy and the coleslaw was very good that was in the rap . My wife had a veggie melt sandwich served open-faced on focaccia bread with smoked mozzarella and grilled marinated vegetables it was very tasty and she enjoyed it greatly . This was our first trip to the rhubarb house and it will not be our last . The food and the prices are both excellent . Thank you for making a wonderful lunch for us . This is another local restaurant in Hagerstown that has been around for a while but still needs the locals to eat there or order food to help small businesses survive through this pandemic. As I've said in my other reviews we need to support all of our local restaurants and stores so that the money stays here in the community and helps out the people around us to keep their jobs and to be able to make an living and pay their bills. If we are going to go out and eat let's eat somewhere local and support our local restaurants.

This is such a cute place to stop and have lunch! Came with my mom and grandma and the food was absolutely delicious. Would’ve taken pictures of what we ate but we devoured it too quickly! Love the Christmas decorations too. 🥰

Loved the warm inviting cheerful atmosphere. The food was wonderful and the desserts are amazing. It is only open for lunch Monday through Friday, but you should pop in if you can make it over on a weekday.

We have been coming to the rhubarb house for the past couple of years and it never disappoints! The restaurant is always clean . The waitresses are very friendly and very knowledgeable. When i asked for a sweet tea i was told they do not have that but suggested I try a 1/2 tea 1/2 lemonade which hit the spot. The food is freshly made and is delicious , the fresh fruit garnish is a nice touch too. We even went for the home made banana walnut coconut cake that was topped with freshly made whipped cream, it was to die for! We will absolutely be going back , and we hope you give it a try too.
