Retreat on the lake - Motel in Hiawassee - 213 N Main St, USA

If I could give a 10 star review I would. The property is precious. The motel portion has been completely redone and the rooms are pristine and spotless. We stayed in one of the tiny houses and it was just perfect- spotless and so cozy. The kids loved the loft ant there was plenty of room for our family. Most impressive, however was the service. We had a small mistake with our booking and Chris was so accommodating and had our room fixed in minutes! I have never had such amazing customer service. I highly recommend this property!!

BEWARE that not all reservations are in the same as the photos show! They did a really nice job with remodeling the rooms. It is clean and comfortable, however all the pictures show the tiny houses NOT the hotel room that you are booking here. I don't even see how to book the tiny house here. Also the name is very deceiving. It is hardly a "retreat" and "on the lake" is quite a stretch. You can't even get to the tiny cove because the steps and dock are dilapidated and overgrown! There is no staff on site, no office. Everything done via text and phone calls. Would be nice to have some vending machines for drinks or snacks. Place could be so much better with a bit of a personal touch.

I’m a thru-hiker and was officially one of the first to stay in one of the “tiny homes”. I 100% approve! Each home can sleep multiple people, great view, quiet, and great amenities. It felt truly like a home and not hotel room. Great service while booking and it was a nice break staying here.

Only stayed for one night, but was wowed by the room and the service. Extremely clean and well appointed. Chris was instantly responsive and very quick to fix my technological snafus. (I am old, so anything above stone tablets is beyond me.). Highly recommend.

Honest Review: It was very clean, the rooms were nice and updated, the bed was comfy, and easy access to rooms. I have 0 complaints. A great stay, looking forward to coming back.

We found this place by accident ! Hidden gem . My wife booked a cottage and it’s perfect . The service was prompt and fabulous. Lots of outdoor action the area.

This was me and my wife’s first time visiting Hiawassee Georgia. We had friends tell us how gorgeous and inexpensive it was to stay here; they really didn’t do it justice. The view was immaculate and the Room was perfect for a great price.

Out of town hiker here, we walked to the retreat and couldn’t find anywhere to check in. We tried calling and no answer, so just walked to the Holiday Inn up the street. We really wanted to support a local business during our town stay.
