I highly recommend this place to stay in Crystal River. It is a motel style accommodation so I was hesitant at first but this place is so nice. They have completely renovated this place and the rooms are very modern, clean, tastefully decorated and comfortable. They are in the process of landscaping the grounds but it already looks inviting. The check-in was friendly and they have a basic continental breakfast in addition to coffee, tea and water available all day and night. The location is great and quiet yet close to everything we wanted to do. It is walking distanct to the cute shopping area, a coffee shop, a tavern and adventure center where you can arrange manatee tours etc. The restaurants we went to were a very short easy drive. We really liked Crackers, Waterfront Social and Seafood Seller.
The best blessing found in Crystal River. This resort is in the perfect location for all sorts of recreational activities during the day. We were able to walk down the street to the beautiful surrounding town, restaurants, and many water-activities (kayaking, swim w manatees, 3sister springs, etc.) in a short distance. Aside from the location, the experience was way above par. The owner is very kind and welcoming, and wonderful service all around. Our room was clean, spacious and had a nice bathroom. I appreciated their 24/7 breakfast area as a late-riser!!! Highly recommended visiting
The Kings Bay Lodge was our original reservation but they still have not recovered from the hurricane surge, they recommended Retreat at Crystal Manatee & we are so glad they did!! There is so much to like about this place! Nice comfortable bed, high quality bedsheets & towels, big size room, awesome shower & very clean. It was a nice surprise to see a paper bag hanging on the door knob with tasty croissants …. we thought what a sweet welcome treat! But then we got a bag every night for the 4 nights that we stayed there. Now that’s real special. |We met the owner & visited with him about how long he’s owned the hotel & how particular he is of the high quality & cleanliness of it all. He’s from Germany. |We came to see the manatees & had such great time swimming & paddle boarding among lots & lots of these sweet gentle giants! |The Retreat is a very short walk to Kings Bay where we did our manatee tours!
It's a hidden gem, not too hidden!!!. The ambiance, the service. It's new or rebuilding but makes you feel in the perfect place. Great location, just a couple of steps away you can enjoy the best Sunset. And they left a WARM CROISSANT in my door!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
All the charm of old Florida on the outside with all modern amenities and conveniences on the inside. The location is fantastic. You can walk to shops and restaurants. Our manatee tour left from just down the street within walking distance. There's even a park close by. The room was excellent with a great shower. We appreciated the freshly baked pastries in the afternoon. A nice lounge area with big tables for us to get together. The entire staff (desk and cleaning) were very kind. Will definitely be back.
We spent the weekend in Crystal River since we unfortunately had a memorial service to attend nearby on Saturday. We arrived early but were greeted so well by the cleaning staff who pointed out where we could park. We walked around this cute town, had some lunch and upon our return we were so nicely greeted by the receptionist. To our surprise and delight, the town was hosting their Crab Jam Festival right outside our door! Our spirits were lifted by the music, food and vendors. When we returned to our room we were met with freshly baked croissants! Even though the live music stage was close to our room, it was quiet enough for us not to be disturbed. I would recommend Retreat at Crystal Manatee Hotel for anybody wishing to have a unique, personal experience in Crystal River. You could not ask for nicer people or a cleaner room!!
Great place! Owner personally met us at 10:15pm for a late check in. Love the location. Love the nightly pastries! Rooms have been completely updated. No complaints! Highly recommend!
The place is nice, very well located. But even though rooms seem to have been recently renovated, there are things to work. Our first night was very bad with a very noisy mini split. Even though we had complaint when we arrived we were told it was "normal". It wasn't. In fact, same mini split is installed in the breakfast room and it is very quiet as it should be. Next night we slept with it off. Very fancy shower with jets that really do not work due to the low pressure of the water...TV also, reloading (looses connection) a few times a day and it takes about 5 to 10 minutes to restart. Breakfast? Very poor also. Value for money? 2/5 also.
