The food was very good. We were there for Sunday brunch. There was a brunch menu and their regular lunch menu. I chose to eat off of the brunch menu and my partner decided to order off the regular menu. The brunch was 5 courses, as you finish one course the next one should have come out, unfortunately for me it didn’t happen that way. We didn’t have reservations so we had to sit at the bar and I think because we ordered similar things to the couple next to us they confused our orders a few times. The air conditioner either was not working well or just was not turned up high enough (I had to fan myself the whole time). The bartender was great, the hostess, possibly manager or Owner was very nice as well. Our water stayed full. They continuously checked on us. I would visit again. I would definitely make reservations next time.

We stopped here after we went on a swamp boat tour. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding but what made this place stand out was the view!!!! We sat along a tall wall of windows that overlooked part of the swamp. During dinner an alligator swam down the canal and hung out the entire time we were eating lunch. It was definitely a pleasant surprise!

I came in on a Sunday after doing something else in the area. I chose to order off the menu as I was hungry, but not hungry enough for the five-course special menu. I got the crab cake with pasta. It was good but lacked some pizazz somehow. Service was excellent. Everything was in perfect order. The bayou outside was nice to look at.

Nice day out with a wonderful group of people. Thanks to our servers and chef. Everything was delicious. Comfort relaxed atmosphere.

Loved everything about Des Families. Our waitress Jamie made feel like home. Jamie was very down to earth and friendly. Food was a 10 and the alligator outside was very entertaining. Loved the cajun music playing in the background. Reminded me of my childhood, my grandparents played french cajun music. Thank you to Des Families and Jamie for making my birthday dinner so special.

Great food and great entertainment! I had the Redfish Marcel with a side of chicken and sausage jambalaya, then the Creme Bruleé for dessert. I got to try the turtle soup (very yummy!), the red beans and rice, as well as the alligator stuffed mushrooms, and the crab cakes with angel hair pasta. All of it was REALLY good! We also got to watch a couple of alligators and some wading birds enteract with one another just outside the windows while we ate. This is definitely a hidden gem that is off the beaten path, but well worth the trip out of town!

Delicious meal. All the food was good, but Turtle soup was amazing and great views of alligators and birds from the huge windows.

When they say bayou views they mean bayou views! The alligator regulars are all named after the Golden Girls according to staff. Each of us got the Sunday five course meals (except for the little one who got the kids meal pasta with a side of fruit) we also got a basket of bread upon arrival which was great. The food was amazing and my mom got a mimosa that she was very fond of. While it was an amazing experience with great views and even better food, everywhere has a few flaws. This place didn’t have enough flaws to bring down their rating but be warned that the kids pasta is a very large portion. Less a flaw but there are only two women’s bathroom stalls which isn’t a big deal. Also not a flaw but the fruits in the kids side of fruits are blueberries, strawberries, and bananas. I definitely recommend the chicken gumbo and the pecan pie.
