Residence Inn Winston-Salem Hanes Mall - Hotel in Winston-Salem - 3885 Oxford Sta Wy, USA

We’ve stayed in town before, in the downtown area, but Residence Inn has been our favorite so far. Staff was kind and happy to help. The hotel was clean and looked recently updated or maybe it’s just really well taken care of! The breakfast wasn’t anything crazy, the usual stuff. But the kitchen was very clean and we appreciated the ready made breakfast sandwiches and all of the fun toppings for the waffles. My mom and I are used to traveling together and don’t take anything too seriously…. If you appreciate a fun staff that will sit and talk/joke with you this is the place. We didn’t have children with us but would be comfortable doing so. The next time we come, we’re bringing my dog Ella!

I was provided wonderful service by Naketa and Donte' who went out of their way to make our stay a better one. I was here for 3 nights and not once did housekeeping come by our change my towels even after being asked by housekeeping did I need towels. The room had dead bugs on the window seal, I wouldn't cook anything on the inside of the oven and there was food items that were visible under the oven. Also if you want to recommend a staff member for good service do not mention their name thinking the management will reward them bc they will only give them a pat on the back unlike almost every other Marriott I can think of. This hotel almost appears to be working on a COVID cleaning schedule. If you just want a bed to sleep in with clean sheets (questionable) for a good price this is probably your hotel other than that I will be going back downtown to the Marriott.

This is my go to home away from home when I come out to NC for business. You can definitely feel a different vibe from the staff since new management came in. I’m so thankful that Matt, GM, brought back the coffee to stay out past 9am! It’s the small things for us business travelers. Naketa always takes such good care of me when I stay here. She makes sure I have everything I need and will not hesitate to go above and beyond for me. I look forward to our dinners when I’m here with her. I will definitely keep coming back.

Terrible stay for my family out of town, I am embarrassed that I booked this hotel for them. I booked based on the kitchen in the room, housekeeping and the outdoor pool. Well, the pool was closed. Seems this has been an ongoing issue for this hotel that isn’t getting resolved. Housekeeping was non existent. My mother had to constantly go to the front desk for necessities such as towels and toilet paper. Room never got cleaned once for the entire week after several requests, they would have to set their trash outside the door! Absolutely ridiculous for the price you pay to stay here. Management didn’t seem to care much. I do not recommend!!!

We stayed here for 36 days while my husband was undergoing cancer treatment. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff, from the front desk to the cleaning and maintenance folks, were friendly, helpful and accommodating...always with a big smile. I especially want to recognize and thank the kitchen staff, Gary and Ashley. During our stay, due to low immune system, my husband had to stay in the room, so every morning I would come down and get his breakfast. These two, Gary and Ashley, always smiled, said good morning and made sure that I was able to get my husband a high protein, delicious breakfast. These two are amazing, helpful and welcoming. They should be commended for the thoughtful and courteous work they do. Thank you all for treating us like family.

Terrible stay. The pool is closed. The breakfast workers were very rude and would try to close everything down 20 minutes early. Had to ask for anything we needed when it was 20 minutes early including coffee. Couch bed had springs coming out of the mattress. The couch cushions were stained. There was no baking pan to cook with in the oven that’s in the room.

One of the worst hotels, there was no housekeeping available, we always had to ask for more towels and had to go to front desk to keep picking it up. There was no pots/pan when we came and had to ask for it. Breakfast was OK some days items were not even ready and we had to ask for it. Pool was closed for all 4 nights we stayed. Only good thing was location.

I grade hard. Everyone starts out average (3).  Maybe 3 out of 20 go up and 1 or 2 go down. First, of all the extended stay hotels this was the nicest one.  It had great desk people and morning staff at breakfast. Unfortunately a new management group took over reciently and the number of "buts" is just to many to give it a 3. In the 13 days I was there, the swimming pool never worked yet still advertised on website. Found out later it's been dead for 3 months. The lovely fire pit shown on the webpage did not work.  The cable guy broke the cable for three days. And that was the least annoying part.  They could not get the room serviced correctly to save their souls.  Some days towels no bath mat.  Other days bath mat no towels.  ON the last day down to two hand towels. Breakfast were OK in the fact they were pre made sandwiches.  On the weekend the breakfast host did not even bother taking them out of the package. When checking out I told them of the problem and the response was have a nice day.  Guess Mariott's gets a letter next.
