Residence Inn Seattle South/Tukwila - Hotel in Tukwila - 16201 W Valley Hwy, USA

The hotel is definitely starting to show its age. It is an older style residence inn that looks more like an apartment complex than a hotel. Which was nice because you could park close to your room and not have to walk too far. We stayed in a 2 bedroom loft, which meant we were on the second floor of the building. This was less than ideal because you have to haul suitcases up those flights of stairs. I found it to be in a decent location, it is less than 10 minute drive to the airport and was really close to the Southcenter Mall and lots of chain restaurants and stores. There was also a King County Metro Rapid Ride stop right outside the hotel, which was easy if you wanted to take public transport. It also was super close to I5 and I405. The parking was $12/day, which I thought was a bit much. It was a surface lot behind a strip center, no gates or valet. Not entirely sure what we were paying for? The rooms, while nice, definitely needed some help. One of the burners on the stove did not work, the AC never got the room to the set temperature, and the curtains had rips in them. The kitchen was stocked with the basics, the only thing it was missing was a strainer.

I wouldn’t come here for a long stay, but if you wanna be here for two nights that’s probably OK so when we first checked in, we saw veggies on the floor of our hotel so we went back got a different hotel room and that one had a busted door But we sucked that one up. The mattresses were super dirty, but I sucked it up. They had night guards because of the location it’s next to a 711 and it’s in Seattle. The cookies are good and the breakfast is good. It was nice and a reasonable price. Big kitchen, lovely room, and friendly service. It looked like a little condo. I don’t understand the complaints about the location. You’re in an airport city.. plus across from 3 Hiltons on the same road. The only minor issue was the freezer getting very loud for an hour or so. It eventually stopped.

I would not recommend this hotel. It is outdated and in need of some maintenance. After the first night I took a shower and could not unlock the bathroom door. I literally had to kick a whole through the door to get out. It was a scary feeling. ||The shower was slow draining as well, so I’d be standing in 1/2 inch to an inch of water when showering. ||While nothing happened to my car, I was concerned it may get broken into due to the location. ||I just cannot recommend the hotel. Management will need to put some money into it to make the hotel more attractive.

Don't recommend this aging, poorly maintained Residence Inn. Found two .22 bullets and unknown USB security device left in safe. No soap or shampoo in dispensers. When I advised reception, I was told to worry and that they would be refilled. She didn't understand that they were empty upon my arrival and that was why I mentioned it. Beware next guest.

I will start my review with this hotel is not in the most desirable location and the hotel is starting to show its age. However, the staff were friendly and everything seemed relatively clean. The rooms were large and were suitable for my stay.

Just moved from grungy Comfort Inn & Suites SeaTac, so this is wayyyy better !!! Huge two floor apartment style villas. Good for family of 5 or larger. Tad bit dated but overall well done. Huge basketball family so really appreciated the sport court and hoop. Free breakfast is a bonus. Helpful staff. Not far from SeaTac.

Prior to check-in, I was having a second thought about staying here as I read several negative reviews. But it turned out I was happy I didn’t cancel my reservation. It is not a fancy hotel but very convenient as the room I booked had two separate bedrooms with own bathrooms. And staff at front desk were very nice and accommodating. Breakfast was OK, and yea they could perhaps update the decor/furniture in the room but it was also convenient that I brought my pet and room was easy to access from parking and plenty of grass area to walk my dog. So I am overall very satisfied with the choice of my hotel this time.
