Residence Inn Orlando Altamonte Springs/Maitland - Hotel in Altamonte Springs - 270 Douglas Ave, USA

I am a Gold Elite member who stays at Marriott’s frequently. This is an underrated hotel. Not sure why there are so many bad reviews, perhaps some people have unrealistic expectations? This isn’t the Ritz Carlton, it’s not meant to be, but it’s a clean, quiet and comfortable hotel for sure. From the moment I checked in, with the staff being very welcoming and kind till the moment I left, everything was great. Here is my logical and fact based review: **PROS** Clean, quiet and comfortable. Older but very spacious and well maintained rooms, that are perfect for families. Great location in Altamonte springs with super easy access to I4 yet far enough to have zero road noise (unlike most hotels nowadays). Clean/well maintained pool. **CONS** Breakfast could be improved a little. Could benefit from a little more kitchen equipment. Overall an excellent stay and highly recommended whether you are a family and need some space, or a solo or couple vacationing and appreciate the nice relaxed and quiet “suburban” feel of Altamonte Springs in Orlando that is within easy distance to downtown and the east coast beaches. This place is truly a little oasis and I won’t hesitate to return!

We checked in on the night of July 19. It was late. We had a long drive from Ga. The check-in person at the front desk was so nice and helpful! She got us checked in quickly and smoothly! The rooms were nice, comfortable, and very spacious! I enjoyed it. The sweet girl at the front desk was great, her customer service was superb, and we will definitely be back!

It's a REAL stretch to call the room we stayed in the "penthouse" come on Residence Inn... the best part about the hotel was the Mexican restaurant next door. The rooms are old and likely converted apartments. The upstairs loft was fun for the kids to have their own space but it was very hot up there.

This residence inn is definitely in need of a major face lift which makes the rooms feel dingy. Staff was amazing though and pool sparkling. Breakfast had some good options and fit our needs well. It is in a very populous area sharing space with bowling alley and some parking of restaurants so it could be a bit noisy outside but didn't notice it inside. Needs some modern updates like usb ports for charging, new carpeting and fresh coat of paint and this would get more stars

Unacceptable Treatment and Poor Customer Service I am extremely disappointed with the treatment my son received at Residence Inn Orlando Altamonte/Springs/Maitland. Despite having a confirmed and paid for reservation, he was denied check-in because he was using my credit card for "incidentals". This left him stranded more than three hours away from home, with no assistance or alternatives offered by the hotel staff. As a frequent traveler, I know that hotels can accept a family member’s credit card, as I have done this before. I tried to work with the Manager to provide other methods for covering incidentals, but they refused to help, citing hotel policy. I emphasized that leaving a young man stranded in an unfamiliar place is very poor hotel policy. This level of customer service is completely unacceptable. The hotel showed a lack of empathy and flexibility, failing to accommodate a young traveler who had a confirmed reservation. I expected better from a reputable establishment and will not be recommending this hotel to anyone in the future. UPDATE: I have received responses from other travelers who have also had problems with this hotel. AVOID AT ALL COST if you are looking for a reputable hotel.

The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. I promise you the bad review is way off mark. We have stayed there many times and have always been treated more like family then guests. Any time we had an issue it was addressed immediately. Zulika, Antisha and Meghan go way out of there way to ensure you have all you need. I promise you will not be disappointed if you stay there. I’ve stayed at many hotels in my life and I can assure you this is where you want to stay.

Large spacious rooms with full size stove & fridge. Entry from outside although it's not like a standard motel. There are several buildings on the property and each has like 6 rooms or so. Customer service was great, good brkfst, I would stay here again. Booked this room on points and it really wasn't very many points a night.

I’m a lifetime Marriott Gold member so I have spent a lot of time in Residence Inns and this is by far the worst I’ve experienced. Our first room smelled like cigarettes so we moved to a room that smelled like spilled brandy. A dead cockroach greeted us and the carpet was from the 80s and had suspicious sticky spots. They even charge $5 for parking which is unusual considering it’s far out in the burbs. The nearby Springfield is much nicer.
